Over 3 years ago, I would listen to this song and drink so much I would end up in Emergency Rooms. I would lie about how much I drank to doctors, to friends, to anyone. I would go to work still drunk from the night before or hungover. I would drive drunk no matter whose car I was driving. I was constantly in between places, I hated working and being at home. I would go play music, drink, and sleep with people I would regret sleeping with. My friends would babysit me while I would be belligerent and blackout. Eventually, someone in my life died and I was forced into AA. Other people can feel whatever about mandated AA. It saved my life. It gave me purpose. It gave me everything. Life started getting better. Things I had never dreamed of; I got my GED, I got into college, I made amends to people I thought would never speak to me again, I started helping people without any ulterior motives. Today, I am content and reasonable because addicts like me get together in a room and talk to each other. Being queer does not have to include addiction. While many events we go to this Pride Month will include alcohol or there will be normalized use of other things. There will always be someone in the room who is sober and willing to help. Someone told me when I got sober, "once you join AA, you never have to be alone again" and I found that to be true. by @tetanonni

Growing up Autistic and Rural was so brutal, and I was reminded of that on my trip back home. Being neurodivergent includes having some pretty intense feelings and honestly I'm still practicing to pause. I was even worse about it as a kid. Being isolated and feeling horrible was temporary, a long temporary but still it's over now. While my drag is very comforting to me because it's kinda like having my favorite parts of my grandmas with me again, I hope it's comforting to another person out there. by @tetanonni

Your stupid "safety" law is not about protecting children. It's about imposing your backwards ass southern Baptist beliefs on everyone. Bill Lee, you should be ashamed and every Tennessee legislator who supported this horrible law. by @tetanonni

We are really lucky to have so many queer arab and amazigh people in our world. I'm glad we've collectively decided Mashrou Leila is part of our culture by @tetanonni

Another amazing song to see in Drag! Did anyone else grow up singing these overly romantic songs of Amr Diab and then realize as an adult "oh..." haha. Amr Diab is like the male counterpart to Fairouz I think. Yes, an Egyptian drag king could shine with this but I'll accept any arabic speaking king. We need more North African/Arab drag now!!! by @tetanonni

One of many great songs I would love to see performed in Drag! Cultural songs are so important and this sicilian song is a beautiful political statement of solidarity with other colonial states and countries. by @tetanonni

Lebanese band Mashrou Leila is one of my favorites right up there with Sicilian band Qbeta. Mashrou Leila is a favorite among queer arabs and most of the musicians in the band haven't "mastered" their instruments or that's what they say. If you like islamic mysticism in music and colloquial break up songs, you'll like Mashrou Leila. One day I may perform a drag version of one of their songs but sheesh lebanese is hard for me. Egyptian arabic is much easier. by @tetanonni
