finallyyyyy releasing the book i promised many moons ago but got caught up tending to the world around me :,)

“girlhood buried behind a church” is a haunting exploration of girlhood, survival, and the strange holiness hidden inside devastation. blending memoir, poetry, and fragmented prose, it follows me navigating generational trauma through sex work, religion, female friendship, queer desire, and growing up too fast.
set beneath motel lights, church pews, and neon stained streets, the collection examines what it means to be a woman in a world that treats girls’ bodies as both currency and confession. through reckless love, childhood fear, and intimacy mistaken for salvation, it explores how trauma reshapes identity while still leaving room for beauty.
religious imagery bleeds into ordinary life: girls become saints and martyrs, motel rooms become cathedrals, and shame is carried like inherited scripture. at its core, “girlhood buried behind a church” is about surviving exploitation without losing softness, and discovering that healing arrives slowly, like light through stained glass.

Often father and daughter look down on mother (woman) together. They exchange meaningful glances when she misses a point. They agree that she is not bright as they are, cannot reason as they do. This collusion does not save the daughter from the mother’s fate. by @tetertotss
