Last week we had a great session of dance mixed with a photography masterclass from @photoswithnoir as part of our Achievers programme at @butetownpavilion - the images above were captured by our youth participants Faith and Miraç. This week due to the weather warnings we won’t be dancing but we will start our planning for Butetown Carnival - so come and sign up! We will also have a guest visit from Keith Murrell, Artistic Director of Butetown Arts snd Culture CIC (BACA) to talk about the history of carnival.

We are so happy to announce 📣 our new Achievers project thanks to funding from the Arts Council of Wales! A pilot youth dance programme leading to a Teulu Dawns stage takeover at Butetown Carnival August 2026 in partnership with Cardiff Youth Service at Butetown Pavilion and Grassroots. Our next workshop is tomorrow (Thursday June 18th) at Butetown Pavilion and includes Afrobeats dance with Oloye and filming and photography skills with Chillee Noir plus doughnuts because it’s Cathryn’s birthday! 🎂
