Did somebody say… Texas closeout?👀🏆

This past weekend, Team Texas had an incredible weekend at the Greenhill Fall Classic to open our season.

The team Texas Odyssey (Gayatri, Anusha, Armaan, Satvik, Gerardo) was walked over in the octo-finals after a nearly undefeated run in prelims.

The teams Texas Apex (Anushka, Mihika, Cindy, Gabby, Shepard) and Texas Titans (Arhaan, Maggie, Preston, Yasha, Siddarth) closed out the tournament in finals with the Titans in 2nd and Apex in first on a 2-1 decision in an incredible exhibition round.

Gabby was the 4th speaker 🏅
Arhaan was the 3rd Speaker 🥉

Thank you so much to all of our incredible coaches for helping us through this weekend, and to Greenhill coaches, debaters, and volunteers for putting on an amazing tournament.

This post is only late because we’ve spent the last few weeks celebrating a HISTORIC TFA tournament for team Texas!! 🎉🥳🎊We are thrilled to announce that we had three Team Texas members in finals, with our very own Arhaan Iyer taking home a state championship. Shoutout to Kate VanWormer and Margo Meaney for reaching finals as well, y’all rocked!

Overall, we had 11 Texas members in outrounds and 4 top 10 speaker awards! 🏆🏆 however, our proudest achievement goes to Coach Melin, who ran one of the most efficient TFA tournaments we’ve ever seen. Without her, TFA wouldn’t have been able to happen and we are beyond grateful 💕💕

While TFA season has wrapped up for this year, team Texas still has one last tournament coming up, so stay tuned for Bluebonnet!🪻🪻lastly, be on the lookout for Texas applications opening up in the next few weeks 👀👀 by @texas.debate
