📚 See and meet more than 280 celebrated and beloved authors in downtown Austin this November 14–15! The 2026 Texas Book Festival will feature 200+ sessions across a wide range of genres and interests. Explore the schedule at the 🔗 in our bio or at Texasbookfestival.org.

📍 In and around the TX Capitol, tents along 11th St., Congress Ave., and Colorado St., and nearby satellite venues, including the State Theatre, First Baptist Church of Austin, Central Presbyterian Church, The Contemporary Austin – Jones Center, and @tslac.

⛺ Book sales tents open 30 minutes before Festival begins and remain open 30 minutes after sessions end each day

This October, the Texas Book Club will face the ultimate horror: teenagehood. This month’s pick, 'I Was a Teenage Slasher,' by Stephen Graham Jones, takes on the greasy, awkward phase that is puberty—with a side of murder.

Set in a small West Texas town, Jones’s thriller follows a pair of teenage outcasts as they navigate Tolly Driver’s transformation into a horror trope. The book is told from Tolly’s perspective as he recounts a bloody summer spent alongside his best friend, Amber Dennison.
