Mongolia Review:

This was one of the most different vacations I've ever taken. When I was in Shanghai and Beijing, I had four different guides, and they all asked why I was going to Mongolia because there was nothing to do.

The Soviet Union abolished most of their cultural heritage, the temples, and the palaces. Mongolia is about the land, the people, and how they live. We met several families and experienced their homes and lives. My favorite part was probably the Gobi desert, with the humpback camels and sand dunes.

Mongolia has some real challenges ahead, as it still has a very nomadic population. The problem is that once they go to college or go away, a lot of times they don't come back, especially the women. If there's a boy and a girl in the family, they send the girl to college first, but the boy needs to stay behind to manage the ranch. Unfortunately, most of the girls, once they go to a Western city, said they're moving to Korea or other Asian nations. So, you have a lot of the male population without any opportunity to wed.

A few interesting facts: * Despite being the 18th-largest country, Mongolia has a population of only about 3.5 million people, making it one of the most sparsely populated countries on Earth. * Around 80% of the country consists of grassland, steppe, desert, and mountains, with vast open spaces. * It's landlocked, bordered only by Russia to the north and China to the south. The capital of Mongolia has 1.5 million residents, with more moving in every day, and around 800,000 cars and counting. The traffic is absolutely horrific, and they didn't make a plan for where all these cars were to park.

The Mongolian people are some of the friendliest and nicest people I have ever met. I am thankful and grateful for this experience and highly recommend that you put Mongolia on your bucket list. by @texasgregalford

This was a gift given by the last Czar of Russia to the last Mongolian King. It's mainly a museum now and needs a lot of work. The king had three other palaces, which were destroyed by the Russians. taken in Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan by @texasgregalford
