One thing about Tex… if he sees the older kids do it, he genuinely believes he can too. 😂No overthinking. No waiting until he’s “ready.” He watches, decides he’s having a crack, and sends it.This trick was no different. A few attempts at a frontside disaster, a few tweaks, and the stoke when he landed it says it all.One of the things we love most about @lvlupaus Academy is being surrounded by skaters who constantly raise the bar. This wasn’t the hardest trick he’s landed.Just the one that scared him the most.Two stacks.One breakthrough.Then he landed it again. And again. And again.The older boys at the park were almost as hyped as he was, with fist pumps and cheering all round.That’s the best part of skateboarding. Tex went into @alex.air.time comp with a list of 10 tricks he wanted to land in his run. Not only did he tick them all off, he put together one of his cleanest runs yet against a crew of older, more experienced skaters.At 6 years old, he’s still one of the youngest in the division often competing against kids several years older than him. That’s a big difference when it comes to size, strength, power and board control. He didn’t place but every comp is another chance to have fun, learn, back himself under pressure and chip away at the skills.Watching him hold his own against the older crew and put together exactly the run and pull it off clean that he’d been working towards was a win in itself.
