🔔The 2026 Textile Exchange Conference is now open for registration!

Bringing together leaders and experts from across the fashion, textile, and apparel industry, this year’s conference will explore The Implementation Era—how we can scale what works across businesses, supply systems, and landscapes.

Supported by the release of Textile Exchange’s new action pathways, designed to scale preferred cropping, recycling, and animal material production systems, the conference focuses on translating desired outcomes into decision-making.

📅 October 12–16, 2026
📍 Vancouver Convention Center, Canada, and online

We’re proud to welcome @joinreju as the title sponsor of the 2026 Textile Exchange Conference. Reju is helping to lead this industry-wide shift by scaling textile-to-textile recycling solutions designed to turn post-consumer textile waste into new resources. Its focus on innovative infrastructure and strong partnerships reflects the practical, system-level action this year’s theme calls for.

The 2026 Textile Exchange Conference is taking place on the unceded territories of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Textile Exchange recognizes their strength, endurance, and resilience and expresses solidarity.

We’re excited to bring the sector together to align individuals and organizations into a coordinated movement for climate, nature, people, and animals.

New here? Welcome 👋

We’re Textile Exchange, a global non-profit accelerating progress toward a more responsible fashion, textile, and apparel industry, starting with the materials that shape it.

The decisions made at the beginning of the supply chain have far-reaching impact on our climate, ecosystems, and the people behind our clothes. That’s where meaningful, systemic change can begin.

Through our material sustainability standards, membership program, and leading industry resources, we’re working to build a world where materials have lasting value, leading to thriving communities and landscapes.

The women of a historic Himalayan village transforming wool into a livelihood 🧶

Elena Siretanu (@elenasiretanu) is a runner-up of this year’s Textile Exchange photography competition in partnership with @atmos.

Her project documents the women of the Himalayan village of Naggar, in India’s Kullu Valley, where wool, plants, domestic space, and labor are closely connected. The story centers on Kullvi Whims, a community-rooted social enterprise that grew from a modest initiative with a single sewing machine and a small group of women into an expanding network of artisans. By working with indigenous Himalayan wool, natural dyes, and labor-intensive hand processes, Kullvi Whims is rebuilding a local textile chain around materials and skills that already belong to the region.

This story reflects a new understanding of regeneration—not just as a single environmental intervention, but as the rebuilding of relationships between people, materials, place and economic life.

Based between London and Chișinău, Siretanu is a Moldovan-born visual storyteller and documentary photographer. Her work is shaped by a life lived between Eastern and Western Europe and explores identity, belonging, memory, intimacy, and representation.

🏆 Discover the winning project of this year’s Textile Exchange photography competition in partnership with @atmos.

Claudia Revidat (@claudiarevidat) is a French photographer and filmmaker whose work documents the lives and work of the women of Ghazipur, on the outskirts of Delhi, India.

Among mountains of waste lie countless discarded garments and textile fibers—this is where the story of our materials continues. On this open-air landfill, local women tirelessly sort through layers of discarded materials, recovering plastic, textiles, and anything that still holds value.

Living alongside them for several days, Revidat encountered a remarkable sense of solidarity and quiet resilience in a place defined by extreme environmental degradation.

Her resulting project does not present Ghazipur as a model of regeneration. Instead, it reveals why regeneration has become essential. It exposes the environmental and human consequences of a system in which materials continue to exist long after they have disappeared from our lives, encouraging a broader reflection on responsibility across the fashion supply system.

True regeneration cannot focus solely on materials. It must also restore landscapes, protect communities, and recognize the invisible labor of those who already extend the life of what we choose to throw away.

The human cost of global consumption.

On the outskirts of Delhi, the Ghazipur landfill rises more than 330 feet into the sky, a chilling landscape of discarded materials, toxic fumes, and methane-fueled fires. Here, women sort through heaps of waste in search of plastic, textiles, and anything that can be salvaged. Their labor keeps valuable materials in circulation, but they bear the environmental and human burden of a culture built on consumption and disposal.

This documentary project by photographer Claudia Revidat (@claudiarevidat) is the winner of this year’s Textile Exchange Fashion Regenerated competition, in partnership with Atmos. Rather than offering Ghazipur as a story of regeneration, Revidat confronts the conditions that make this work necessary. The project asks us to consider what happens to the materials we discard and the lives impacted long after we stop looking.

🔔 Released today! Our new Materials Market Report and Materials Benchmark Insights and Trends have just been published.

📊 Each year, we release our Materials Market Report, which covers global production volumes within the textile, clothing, leather, and footwear industries, as well as across all end uses such as technical textiles used for the automotive industry.

👕 We also conduct the Materials Benchmark, a reporting system that collects data on raw materials uptake from participating brands and retailers along with key information on sourcing practices.

Data from this year’s Materials Benchmark shows that the 384 participating brands and retailers (including subsidiary brands) made meaningful progress in 2025.

For the first time, the Materials Market Report features estimates of the global production volumes flowing into products specifically for the apparel, home textiles, bags, footwear, and technical textiles industries, applying a new, updated methodology to arrive at these estimates.

This is where the industry gathers.

There’s one month to go until we convene in Vancouver to learn from industry leaders, build valuable connections, and discover practical solutions.

While recent years have focused on building understanding, frameworks, and infrastructure, we must now prioritize turning planning into practice if we are to secure the longevity of our industry and its material supply. The 2026 Textile Exchange Conference will focus on how to convert this collective readiness into actions that, when aligned across supply and demand, deliver system-wide resilience.
