A big part of who I am is who I am not anymore

How am I supposed to achieve my dreams if I can’t even keep my promises to myself?
I can barely manage to make my bed sometimes or eat a good meal or find the jeans I wore last week...but I want to photograph the most iconic shoot next week
Can’t get there without organization & discipline

10/1/25
three years sober.
i’ve lost people, places, and versions of myself.
but i gained peace & clarity & time to be more creative!
i chose the fig that kept me safe & sober,
and it’s still the sweetest one.

This year I feel nothing but lucky.
Lucky to be surrounded by love.
Lucky to be happy and healthy.
Lucky to have found such a beautiful community through film photography.
Lucky to be stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself in ways I never would have before.
Lucky for this life.

One year ago I was not feeling too great.
It was a few weeks into some GI issues. Didn’t know it would last for over six months and put me through literal hell and back mentally, physically & emotionally. While also, draining my bank out trying to find answers.
These days, life is so sweet. That experience definitely changed me.
I wouldn’t be as creative as I am
today without it all.
Probably never would’ve dived into photography as soon as I started feeling better.
Made me not want to waste anymore time not doing what I love & chasing my wildest dreams.
Thanks for everyone who was there for me during those times and helped to keep me financially and mentally afloat. Love and appreciate you all.

(posting this as a reminder to check on your family / friends & to remember that a lot can change in a year🤍 always here to listen to any of you if you need to vent, because life is hard & we need one another to get through it).

Also shoutout to film photography, it has definitely been my happy place. by @tfvni
