A pleasure to open Alan Lodge ‘Common Grounds: Counterculture & Confrontation Since 1976’ at @boningtongallery last night that I’ve curated & designed. Thanks to everyone who came down, a special evening.

It’s been great working with Alan over the past 18 months on this. A huge thanks to my colleagues, our technical team/support/fabricators and Jess Harris for designing such a great publication feat. Interview between Alan & @jeremydeller.

Runs until Dec 12th — Mon-Fri 10-5, Sat 11-3.

This has been my third summer volunteering on the Chain Ferry at Normanton-On-Soar and my final shifts of the season are Sunday 6th & 13th September, 1.30-4.30pm. Come visit if you can, it’s been lovely taking friends and family across this year.

The other week I had the pleasure of chatting to Margarita Liddington who was the ferrywomen from 2008-2014, taking over from her husband Peter who was the ferryman from 1978-2008 (helped by Rita and their son). This was Rita’s first time back in the ferry for many years. The stories were brilliant…

Come visit x

Feel very fortunate to be curating Alan Lodge’s first(!) institutional survey exhibition at @boningtongallery, covering 5 decades of his extraordinary life, work & career — accompanied by a publication w/ an excellent interview between Alan and @jeremydeller.

‘Common Grounds: Counterculture & Confrontation since 1976’ opens on Thursday 24th September, 6-8pm (RSVP via @boningtongallery) and continues until December 12th. This will be accompanied by ’It’s A Wonderful Protest’ by the Velvet Acronyms (@anna_liart & @raven_simon) in our Vitrines.
