Plunder, 2025

In “Plunder,” I combine archival imagery and multiple media to gain insight into antiquity’s virile and violent shroud. Central to the exhibition are motifs of innocence, longing, and icons of “heterosexuality.” Deciphering the reliance on Greek male statuary as a beacon of masculinity and unknowingly homosexuality, I present an antithesis of its current relevance and bestowed meaning. While encompassing the construction of the liminal through portals, I intervene in the facets of conflict through offering. The reflection of looted histories showcases the perpetual destructive cycle of man. Plunder oscillates between themes of birth and expiration, revealing and concealing, identity versus the collective.
