I’ve taken some time to think about what to say, but words are simply not enough.

My mother was nothing less than extraordinary.

My mom taught me how to tie my shoes, how to drive, how to talk to girls, and taught me how to be empathetic and treat people with respect, and that “you catch more with honey than vinegar”.

My mom always had my back no matter what I did in life. Whether it was me moving to a new city, changing careers, or offering sage advice to whatever struggle I was going through.

I lived with my mom during Covid and she became my best roommate. One day we were talking about our legacy, and my mom said that she always wanted to be remembered for her kindness.

Mom, if only you knew how far your kindness has reached out to loved ones and strangers alike. You always put everyone’s needs before your own and wouldn’t blink an eye.

You would pick me up from the airport with Hank whenever I flew back to Atlanta. You would welcome any of my friends into your home with open arms. You always stayed up past your bedtime until I got back just to make sure I was home safe (and to hear the latest tea from work).

Your kindness knows no bounds. That is something I want to carry on forever.

I will always love you more than you could ever know.
