〈ㅗ, ﾌﾌㅏ〉, 1998 🎬

조형적 재현은 현실을 모사하는 기술이라기보다, 현실이 구성되는 방식을 드러내는 하나의 장치로 기능한다. 슬며시 드러나는 합성의 흔적은 환상을 붕괴시키기보다, 현실 또한 하나의 구성물일 수 있다는 가능성을 열어 둔다. 까닭 없이 유지되는 믿음은 언제나 이미지보다 오래 지속되며, 관객은 그 믿음을 현실이라는 이름으로 승인한다.
세계는 사실들의 총합이 아니라, 반복적으로 해석되고 합의된 지각의 체계 위에서만 성립한다. 요컨대 〈ㅗ, ﾌﾌㅏ〉는 현실과 허구의 경계를 해체하려는 작업이 아니라, 그 경계를 끝없이 만들어내는 우리의 인식 자체를 하나의 퍼포먼스로 제시한다.

Fiction is not opposed to reality. uncertainty merely exposes its conditions. construction precedes perception. knowledge follows belief. yet images continue to authorize the world. only repetition makes them appear true. ultimately, 〈ㅗ, ﾌﾌㅏ〉 leaves that process unresolved. by @thae.nache
