THE NEW COLOSSUS BY EMMA LAZARUS

Inspired by the #peoplesfilibusternyc launched by The Public Theater @publictheaterny.

Project developed by @itselenasartor as a peaceful stand against the hatred we are witnessing in the world right now.

The concept of the poem The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus came into vision one day: who better than international, female-identifying actors to embody this symbol of resilience, empathy, and freedom?

15 accents. 15 stories. 15 identities. Each distinct, yet part of the same journey toward purpose and belonging.

A living Statue of Liberty: not silent, not still. But diverse, human, and unapologetically inclusive.
We are not the same, but we are the same.
