Finding the perfect location for the restaurant scenes in DIY was one of the biggest obstacles in bringing filming together.

But as they say, there’s a reason for everything.

Without that challenge, we never would have discovered Thario’s Kitchen in Carpinteria, CA.

Filming at Thario’s added so much to this experience. The energy, life, and heart that fills the space is truly incredible. There are hardly words to describe how perfectly it all came together.

The owners, Mario and Thais, were beyond welcoming and made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. And the FOOD… oh my goodness. It’s safe to say we’ll be talking about it forever.

Have you ever had the chance to spring a really big surprise on your beloved? It's the best.

And being the bearer of that surprise? Soo cooool!

One of the charming @losnovios805 reached out to me just before their wedding, explaining that his soon-to-be hubby was a big art lover, they didn't have photography coverage for their reception, and wouldn't it be great to have a live painter there, capturing the togetherness of dinner as a loving surprise?

Heck yes it would. Sign me up.
