LEGOLAND Windsor with a 2 & 4 year old 🧱🎢

We’ve been before, but this was our first time taking them at these ages, and there are a few things we definitely learnt along the way!

Our biggest tip? Arrive for opening👏

Our 4 year old loved the Dragon and our 2 year old loved the Dragon’s Apprentice, so this was the perfect first area for us. We managed to ride them both a few times each in the first hour with hardly any queue 🐉 Worth getting everyone out of the door early!

It’s also much hillier than you might expect, so little legs can get tired quickly. A pushchair or cart is really handy, especially when you’re also carrying approximately 47 snacks 😂 If you’ve got a smaller baby or a clingy toddler, consider bringing a carrier too - I wish id bought a hip seat for O who refused to stand in the queues for longer than 15 seconds before wanting a cuddle!

We went on a Saturday, so queues were definitely a thing. Some rides hit 60 minutes, but the app was really useful for keeping an eye on what was busy and what had calmed down.

We’ve put all our tips in the carousel, including the little things we’d want to know before another visit.

With J now at school, weekends are much more relevant for us than term-time visits (but of course if you can go in term time, it’s generally quieter!).

Halloween season is here 🎃 you asked for it, so here’s some of our favourite Halloween events in and around Oxfordshire (check websites for dates and tickets) 🧡

📍 @westwycombewalledgarden and @hellfirecaves: A gorgeous pumpkin patch with lots of photo spots, plus @clarascorner.co soft play and a beautiful café on site. The Hellfire Caves next door are incredible for the bigger or braver ones - what an experience! 👻

📍 @milletsfarm : The boys will love Bippo’s Halloween Circus, and we’ve not tried Pumpkins by Night yet (this looks incredible!) PYO pumpkins too of course - an awesome patch 🎃

📍 @rectoryfarmpyo : A beautiful working farm in any season, but with so much going on at Halloween 👻

📍 @theoldshedcharlbury : We had a gorgeous brunch date here last year at Halloween and the trail was cute too. No pumpkin patch, but still plenty of pumpkins to pick up at the café 🎃

📍 @bunkersgarden : A toddler-friendly pumpkin hunt trail that raises money for charity (perfect for plane spotting too!)

📍 @fairytale_farm : J picked his first pumpkin here and it’s always a lovely day out.

📍 @cotswoldfarmpark : Perfect photo ops at a gorgeous patch. The farm park is lovely too, so you could easily make it a full day out! 🎃

📍 @hogshawfarm : possibly our fave Halloween experience. A witchcraft and wizardry school day with potion making, pumpkin decorating and more, as well as all the usual fun!

📍 @oddsfarmpark : We haven’t been for Halloween yet, but it’s always a brilliant day out and we’ve heard good things!

📍 Hallo’Welly’Ween at @wellingtoncountrypark : We loved it last year and the shows were fab. It has pumpkin carving, circus shows, a spooky train ride and a new silent disco 👻 plus all the usual adventures and areas to explore

📍 Halloween at @blenheimpalace : A bit spooky for the boys atm, but this is the ultimate Halloween experience! It’s an after-dark illuminated trail but we love walking through the gardens to see it all during the day too.

🍂 Let’s build weekends in September! 🧱🐷

Adl We spent the day at @oddsfarmpark and there was so much to get stuck into! Alongside all the usual farmyard fun, little builders can head to the LET’S BUILD! Craft Barn every weekend this September for LEGO, Duplo, magnetic tiles and building blocks 🧱✨

J loved building with the LEGO, while O loved knocking down the blocks 🤣

And if one visit isn’t enough, there’s a return visit offer too, so you can come back and enjoy even more farmyard fun 🚜

Our Oxfordshire rainy day round up! ⬇️

📍 Oxford University Museum of Natural History + Pitt Rivers OX1 3PW 💫 top tip - hop on the bus from Oxford Parkway to the stop close by the museum rather than walking from the main city centre car parks, the bus ride is part of the adventure and its much less walking! @morethanadodo

📍 Story Museum OX1 1BP - Explore magical worlds and immersive exhibitions with different areas for different ages! @thestorymuseum

📍 Westgate Oxford OX1 1TS - the new Lego shop is always a hit plus the rooftop spots like @sixessocialcricket are always fab for the kids for a city centre rainy day

📍 Oxford Bus Museum, Hanborough Rail Station Yard OX29 8LA - open Wednesday and Sunday (Saturday too in July & Aug). Under 5’s go free! @oxfordbusmuseum

📍 Riverside Hub NN3 9HG - ok technically not Oxfordshire (around an hour away) but worth every minute of the drive. Words can’t describe it, just go @hubagram

📍 Hogshaw Farm MK18 3LA - again, not Oxfordshire BUT only 40 minutes away, get your wellies for a splash in the puddles, but a fab softplay here too for the rainier days @hogshawfarm

📍 Silverstone Museum NN12 8TN - 45 mins from Oxford and a brilliant day for car enthusiasts! Check out my reel on this one @silverstonemuseum

📍 Yarnton Magic Garden OX5 1PA - the perfect sensory play for the younger ones @yarntonmagicgarden

We won a competition for a day out at @beaulieu_uk and wow - what a day! 🥰🏎️

So many brilliant moments with the kids - exploring the National Motor Museum, wandering around the beautiful grounds, checking out the main house, and riding the monorail and bus ❤️

✨ Best bits with the kids:
• 🏎️ The National Motor Museum
• 🏰 Exploring Beaulieu Abbey & Palace House
• 🚂 Riding the monorail
• 🌳 Running wild around the grounds
• 🍦 Treats, laughs & plenty of family memories in Little Beaulieu (what a fabulous playground!)

And the best part? The competition prize didn’t stop at the day out… we got to stay too! 🏡

Adl Summer on the farm ☀️

That’s the beauty of a Summer Pass at @hogshawfarm - come for a few hours, make a full day of it, or just pop in when you fancy it. And when the kids are already asking to come back for more, you can!

Whether it’s a morning adventure to see the animals, an afternoon in the splash pool or softplay, or spontaneous picnic and outdoor adventures with friends - thank you @hogshawfarm 🤍

🏎️ We took the kids to @silverstonemuseum, and it turned into such a great family day out! adl

Even better, this summer (until 31 August) children aged 15 and under go free with a full-paying adult - and they can eat free in the café too when an adult buys a qualifying meal (I definitely recommend the Gerhard Burger!).

From iconic racing cars and immersive exhibits to VR experiences and Scalextric racing, there’s loads to keep them entertained.

It’s pram friendly and easy to get around too, so it’s a really easy option for a family day out that doesn’t break the bank.

Adl 🏁🇺🇸 Rally of the Giants at @stonorpark! 🇺🇸🏁

Our Stonor Park adventure last weekend continued beyond Tumblestone Hollow (see my previous reel) with the Rally of the Giants - and what a day! 🚘

Hundreds of American cars, from the classics right through to the modern day, all in the grounds of the beautiful Stonor House. Add in live music, great food and plenty for the kids to enjoy, and it made for a brilliant family day out ❤️

This summer, Camp Tumblestone is bringing even more outdoor fun to @tumblestonehollow at @stonorpark . Challenge your family to garden games, test your skills on the agility trail, relax in the woodland teepee and let imaginations run wild in the magical woodland play area.
