Can’t complain after this weekend I could’ve pushed harder but making sure everything on the car works as it should is the main goal.

Saturday
Had a rough start with the car not starting but it turned out when I swapped the fuel pump to a higher psi in an attempt to fix a bogging I had at 9-10k rpm I hadn’t installed the external regulator so it was just dumping loads of fuel into the combustion chamber.

Once I swapped it back again the car ran but still had a bogging problem, my fastest lap was a 64.39 which was a decent first outing but would’ve been much quicker if I hadn’t had the problem.

Sunday
During that freezing night I was thinking about what else could be causing that bogging the only thing I had available to me was to change back to the original white airbox and mesh filter.

Luckily for me this worked and I was back at full power the car ran perfectly thanks to that I managed to set a time of 61.72 on the figure 8 layout, also my first time on that, this got me 5th fastest overall out of roughly 60 cars. Not bad for one of if not the lowest Horsepower cars competing.

455 days since I last competed thanks to a broken engine.

Since then I have been through almost the entire car internally improving and changing things not only to make it legal for motorsport uk standards but also to shed weight and make it more comfortable.

In the last 455 days I’ve learned how to swap the engine, rewire connections, Mold a seat, adjust the diff, rework the entire fuel system, install a gear indicator, rpm gauge and rpm lights, install a larger chain with a bigger sprocket, and a whole lot more.

It gave me the opportunity to figure out more about car than ever before.

Thanks to my road cars engine also blowing up the Jedi was pushed back by 4 months which wasn’t ideal for my planned return this season.

However, my goal still remains to get enough signatures to upgrade my competition license and compete in the British Hill Climb Cup.

Goodwood was the perfect start I used it more as testing as I was put in a class with 1000cc and 1600cc cars but still managed to get 5th out of 6, less than 1 second shy of 4th which isn’t too bad considering I know I could’ve gained a few seconds if I pushed the car.
