Your ancestors are the most readily available resource. Regardless of creed, religion, or spiritual experience, the ancestors will always walk with you. Just because you’re unsure, uneducated, or diaspora does not mean you’re forsaken from practicing the magic of your people. The magic of you. Walk the path and the ancestors shall walk along side, in front of, and behind you.

Pardon my vulnerability, but as someone who posts informational content, I feel as though perspective is something I can’t teach but I can share it.

I hope seeing things a little more deeply from my perspective can change others’ ideas of what it means to carry what I carry and that I don’t just have it easy. Because I don’t have it easy.

I may have been given more access but I was also forced into roles of more responsibility, work, and even out in the face of more adversity due to having accessibility.

I don’t take others’ comments too personally but sometimes having my experience diminished to something akin to a spiritual nepo baby is frustrating.

I hope this helps others understand how everyone is on a pathway regardless of the preconceived notions of being born with a magical silver spoon or not.

Not in any particular order. (Inspired by @martablue_witchcraft )

Obviously this is my opinion and more so shaped by my teachings and experiences but I believe these are all foundations that the average Asian witch and Asian folk practitioner should have.

What us Asians carry is deeply ancestral. We are superstitious. We fear spirits. We revere spirits. We hold space for the supernatural. We hold the sacred so close that even those of us who don’t believe do to an extent.

Traditions are ingrained in us and so our foundations and practices should reflect what has worked for our ancestors because then it will work for us all.

Let the ancestors be the guiding light and let the spirits’ bells ring true to the depth of the soul.

Photos from when I studied folk magic and traveled around Japan. Learning what I could with the limited time I had. The spirits beckon me to return and one day I will to tend to them until they’re satisfied. For now, I’m stuck hearing the call from afar, unable to answer, but yearning as my heart is pulled back.

I tried. I made the attempts. I did all I could. Now, I wash my hands of this. May blessing bestowed upon you by my proxy and proximity be relinquished with quickness. I wash my hands of your fate. Through all of this, still I rise. But I fret not for, «ибо они, как трава, скоро будут подкошены и, как зеленеющий злак, увянут.» by @thatasianwitch

One misconception I often see is that “Divine Protection” is made to be synonymous with materialism, egocentrism, and lack of accountability.

People who start fights and attempt to fall back on “Divine Protection” even though they were the instigators.
People who feed into consumerism and expect spirit to pay their way through life.
People who see “Divine Protection” as something that is given and received with no work needed on their behalf.

Divine Protection is earned, not given, and is not a path for the faint of heart. To be divinely protected is to have grit, purpose, and awareness of your own flaws. Spirit never plays around so why would you play in spirit’s face like that?

A picture of my very first Ba Si ບາສີ/บายศรี (Bai Sri Su Khwan/Tham Khwan) Ceremony!

I was less than a year old and all four of my grandparents (Paternal Grandpa-Mor and Grandma and Maternal Great Grandma-Folk Practitioner and Grandma)

Since my recent video talking about Khwan and Mor Khwan did well I thought I’d share a pic into my own!
