In my Hemingway phase

So here's one of my favorite quotes by him: "The world is a fine place and worth the fighting for and I hate very much to leave it."

One of the best things about travel is the people you quickly become friends with. So let me tell you about a few...This is the crew that set sail to the small Italian town of Nerano, off the Amalfi coast. It was a few incredible days of living the beach bum lifestyle, with countless laughs, smiles, and sunsets.

Ivo is one of my best friends from Austin. He’s funny, adventurous, friendly. One of those guys that everyone loves and always makes the hangout twice as fun. He’s got the perfect mix of genius and crazy. Without him I would be probably lost in a random Italian village. At the very least my life would be noticeably worse.

I met Sidi at my hostel in Naples. She might be the most positive person I’ve ever met. She’s a lawyer from Brazil who’s always joking and having fun. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her complain, and she’s always down for an adventure. Depending on who you ask she’s also crazy.

Jeonga is an Italian chef from Seoul. On a whim she joined us for a spontaneous adventure to Nerano. She put me on to jazz, joined us for “karaoke” (annoying our neighbors by singing songs at the top of our lungs), and made one of the most delicious spaghetti dinners I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating.

KPIs:
# of Pizzas eaten: 16
# of languages spoken: 5
# of times we sang ‘Until I found you’ by Stephen Sanchez: >20
# of Italian men named Luigi we became friends with: 1 (in an ideal world this would be higher)
# of times bitten by a fish: 4
# of times we missed our ferry: ~0
# of Jimmy Buffet songs listened to while sitting at the beach: a lot, but not enough by @thatbenstevenson
