🐒🤠 THE CHIMP RIDES AGAIN… The wind whispered through the glens. The heather bowed. And somewhere on the horizon, a cheeky little legend came riding into town… Mounted on The Green Hornet, his trusty steel steed, The Chimp was in peak prim condition and ready to sniff out fresh adventures across the Scottish frontier. No gold to find. No outlaws to race. Just miles to munch, hills to conquer and plenty of bananas to keep the engine running. 🍌 They say every cowboy needs a trusty steed. The Chimp just happens to pedal his. Scotland… saddle up. The adventures continue. 🏴🚲🐒 #ScotlandCycling #CyclingAdventure #BikepackingScotland #AdventureCycling #CyclingUK by @thatcyclingchimp
Today’s Adventure Was Something Else! A Route The Chimp Has Wanted To Do For Quite Some Time, 75km Of Pure Highland Action And You Never Know Who You May Bump Into! Who Knew Bigfoot Lived In The Scottish Highlands 🙉 But You Don’t Want To Hear About It, You Want To Witness The Chimp In True Form, Video Will Be Coming Soon 🐵 #bigfoot #paranormal #bike by @thatcyclingchimp
You ever think you’re built for solo miles only… just you, the road, and your own head? Yeah—same. That was the mindset. Keep it simple. Keep it quiet. Keep it yours. Then this ride happened. Rolling out with Magic CC through Glasgow City wasn’t just another spin—it was a full reset. Dozens deep, wheels humming, laughter bouncing between buildings, traffic parting like it knew something special was moving through. No pressure, no egos, just pure shared motion. It hit different. At first it’s overwhelming—so many riders, so much energy—but then something clicks. You stop riding next to people and start riding with them. Every turn, every pull, every look over the shoulder—it all connects. The city feels smaller, the ride feels bigger, and somehow you’re part of something way beyond your usual loop. This wasn’t about pace. It wasn’t about distance. It was about that rare kind of joy that sneaks up and floors you. The Chimp came in thinking solo was king. Left knowing there’s a whole other level when the tribe rolls together. This one? It stays with you. Thank You to @magiccyclingclub for showing a humble Chimp there is strength in Numbers 🐵 #bike #criticalmass #rider #rideyourbike by @thatcyclingchimp
🐵🚲 THE CHIMP’S TIPS: SIDE QUEST UNLOCKED! You’re cruising along on your cycle route when… BOOM! The path is blocked. 😱 Looks like your ride just got a plot twist! Time to ditch the original plan and embark on a brand-new adventure. 🗺️ Check your surroundings: Pause, take a look and see what safe routes are available. 🔀 Choose your new adventure: Follow a signed diversion or find a suitable alternative cycle route. 🚦 Stay on the right path: Avoid busy roads, unsafe shortcuts and routes that aren’t suitable for cycling. 🐒 Watch out for fellow adventurers: Keep an eye out for pedestrians and other cyclists as you navigate your new route. 🚶 Know when to dismount: If there’s no safe way through, hop off and walk your bike to a suitable place. Every great adventure comes with a few unexpected twists. Just remember, the safest route is always the best one! Side quest complete? 🚴‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 TOP 5 TIPS FOR RIDING ROUGH GRAVEL IN SCOTLAND! 🪨🌧️ Scotland’s gravel roads are wild, beautiful and sometimes BRUTAL! From loose stones to muddy tracks, here’s how to ride with more confidence and enjoy every adventure. 👇 1️⃣ LOOK AHEAD 👀 Scan the trail for loose rocks, potholes and unexpected obstacles. Looking further ahead gives you more time to react smoothly and safely. 2️⃣ RELAX YOUR GRIP 🤲 Keep your hands loose, elbows bent and shoulders relaxed. Let your bike move beneath you instead of fighting every bump! 3️⃣ CHOOSE YOUR LINE 🛞 Avoid the loosest stones where possible and look for a firmer, more predictable surface. Remember, the smoothest-looking line isn’t always the safest! 4️⃣ BRAKE SMART 🛑 Brake gently and progressively, ideally before the roughest sections. Sudden braking on loose gravel can cause your wheels to slide, especially on descents. 5️⃣ LET YOUR TYRES DO THE WORK 💨 Run suitable gravel tyres with enough grip and consider slightly lower pressures for comfort and traction. Always stay within your tyre and rim limits! 🏔️ BONUS TIP: Scottish weather changes quickly, so pack waterproofs, carry spares and expect muddy surprises! Master these five skills and you’ll tackle Scotland’s rugged gravel with greater control and confidence. 💬 Which Scottish gravel route is on your bucket list? The Chimp Crushes Glen Orchy! Today’s ride was not for the feint of heart…. 75km of pure unadulterated Gargantuan Gravel with a route by @reizkultur from his Trossachs book (available at all good book stores) 🙉 OfCourse The Chimp investigated some Histories & Mysteries in the area as well as….. had some phone, Garmin & climbing issues flung in with some Hike A Bike….. Oh and we have something that is going to make longer journeys a bit more bearable 🙈 But you don’t want to hear about it and the photos may not do this route justice! Hold on as there might just be a directors cut in the bag hopefully! Let me be your tour guide for this one 🙊 Legs are pumped but this is serious & technical 2 wheel joy 🐵 Huge thanks to @the_green_welly_stop for giving this Chimp permission to set up basecamp at their facilities! #bike #scotland #lochlomondandtrossachsnationalpark #highland #fitness by @thatcyclingchimp

🚴‍♂️🔥 LOST YOUR CYCLING MOTIVATION? FIND YOUR FIRE AGAIN. Every cyclist hits a rough patch. Heavy legs, fading watts and zero motivation happen. The truth? YOU HAVEN’T LOST IT. YOU JUST NEED TO REBUILD IT. 💥 👇 7 TIPS TO GET MOTIVATED AND BACK IN FORM: ⚡ 1. FORGET YOUR OLD NUMBERS Focus on today’s fitness, not yesterday’s power or pace. 🎯 2. SET A SMALL, ACHIEVABLE GOAL Aim for three rides, a local climb or simply getting outside. Small wins build momentum. 🚴 3. MAKE RIDING FUN AGAIN Explore, ride with friends and ditch the pressure. Enjoyment brings motivation back. 📈 4. BUILD CONSISTENCY BEFORE INTENSITY Start easy, ride regularly, then add harder sessions. Consistency beats punishment. 😴 5. PRIORITISE RECOVERY Sleep, fuel well and rest. Your body may need recovery, not more intervals. 📅 6. CREATE A ROUTINE Schedule your rides and prep your kit. Habits keep you moving when motivation fades. 🔥 7. FOCUS ON THE PROCESS Celebrate showing up and getting stronger. The numbers will follow. THE COMEBACK MINDSET: You don’t need to be at your best to start again. Just take the first pedal stroke. YOUR NEXT CHAPTER STARTS WITH YOUR NEXT RIDE. 💪 👇 COMMENT: Are you rebuilding your motivation or already back in the groove? 📌 SAVE this for a low-motivation day and SHARE it with a cycling mate. #CyclingMotivation #CyclingTips #CyclingTraining #bike by @thatcyclingchimp
