Read it and weep ❤️

This is love. This is not toxic, reckless, or violent.

This is why we are here.

I dig deeply into the love and intimacy present inside of confrontation so I can share that possibility with you.

This past weekend has calibrated my compass, and I look forward to sharing it with you soon.

The key finding is that I stand for love and will fight for it in my life and yours.

It’s worth it.

I’ll show you.

You don’t have to believe me.

Thank you, @southpaw_mike and @sacredsons

I stand committed to this path always.

The Portal of Partnership ❤️‍🔥

Markwell is a masculine embodiment coach, husband, father of three daughters, and at 44 a grandfather.

In this episode, Adam and Markwell have a powerful conversation on what it really means to be a strong, emotionally grounded partner in a conscious relationship.

This is an honest look at how relationships can become a portal for transformation when you’re willing to take full responsibility for your inner world. by @thatguymarkwell

If he can’t feel, he’ll use the sword to protect himself instead of serve love.
His dance isn’t about rhythm. It’s about feeling.
Can he sense her heart even when it’s hidden.
Can he stay open when she’s closed.
Can he lead without trying to control her.
When she’s upset, cold, or guarded
does he have the foundation to stay steady,
the sensitivity to soften her,
and the courage to invite her back into connection…
not from his need for connection,
but through invitation and creation?
That’s the mark of a man who’s earned his sword.
Power, without the capacity to feel, is dangerous.
But power guided by presence, that’s devotion.

Fellas if this is you?!?

If so, send this to your woman and say thank you!
They are amazing creators.

Even when they are annoyed by us!

And when that happens, make it fun!

PART DEUX 🎙️🔥

This is where @thatguymarkwell and I get into the meat and potatoes.

We hear, “Everyone is doing the best they can.”

And maybe they are.

But empathy for someone else shouldn’t require abandoning yourself. Accepting the bare minimum just to keep the peace isn’t always empathy. Sometimes it’s self abandonment.

I know this personally.

Growing up, I learned that abandoning my own feelings could keep the peace around me. But you can have peace around you while there’s a storm happening inside.

Sometimes that storm is the younger version of you asking to finally be heard, understood and safe enough to be yourself.

THIS is where the work gets real.

It takes bravery, courage, curiosity and self love to look inward and ask:

Is this my intuition?
Is this an old wound?
Or is it a little bit of both?

That kind of discernment takes presence, and I’m learning it in real time too.

Too many people are chasing the high of the next best thing. The next dopamine hit because discomfort arises…..

The only high I want these days is becoming the highest version of myself so I can better serve my community.

Because it takes a village. Not just a village on that is filled with awake, loving people showing up as their most authentic selves.

I believe God brought us here to LOVE.

Love ourselves. Love each other. And have the courage to become who we were created to be.

Face ourselves and face each other. Friendship Fridays are back.

Real people. Real conversations. Real life wisdom in a world full of media noise.

Wellllll… Instagram decided to Instagram. 😂

Posting error, got booted out after our IG Live, and now it will only let me upload 20 minutes at a time. THANK GOD I downloaded the whole thing before IG decided to humble me. 🙃

So this is Part 1 of such a great conversation with my bro @thatguymarkwell.

This one got deep, vulnerable, funny and definitely enlightening. I know y’all are going to get something out of it.

One of my favourite things Markwell said was:

“You can either do the work, or the work is gonna do you.” 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Oooof. Let that one marinate.

Because so much of growth is having the courage to LOOK AT OURSELVES.

Not just pointing out everyone else’s patterns, triggers, wounds and red flags. That part is easy. 😂 The real work is catching yourself and asking, “Wait… what am I bringing to this?”

We live in a world where so many people show up wearing masks. You meet one version of someone and eventually the mask comes off and you’re like… ohhhh, THIS is who I’ve been dealing with. 😂

But if we’re being real, we’ve probably all worn a mask at some point.

These days, I’m trying to show up as authentically and honestly as possible. I still have my moments because I’m human, but I’m learning to catch my old patterns and stories instead of letting them run the show.

Who we allow into our circle matters. Who we give our energy to matters. And most importantly, who WE choose to become matters.

That’s why I love Friendship Fridays. I get to hang with people who challenge me, teach me, make me laugh and help me grow. Hopefully y’all get something from these conversations too.

Relationships ARE life. So let’s level them up together.

And remember…

Do the work before the work does you. 😂😮‍💨

Part 2 is coming next with the final 20 minutes of my conversation with my beloved pal @thatguymarkwell. ❤️

Markwell was working three jobs, raising three daughters, and trying to give his family the best life he could.

But underneath all of that, he was struggling.

The trauma he carried from his time as a firefighter was showing up at home, and the ways he tried to escape it were hurting his relationship with his wife.

Eventually, she sat him down and told him she loved him, but she couldn’t keep living this way.

That was the moment he could no longer avoid what was happening.

What I connected with in this conversation was how much he cared about his family, while also realizing that the way he was showing up needed to change.

Working harder and pushing through wasn’t going to resolve what he was carrying.

As a father, I could relate to the guilt he described around taking time for himself.

I’ve felt that too. But something he said really stayed with me:

“Taking care of myself is not selfish. It’s actually how I show my commitment to my family.”

Markwell opens up about what it took to face his pain, take responsibility, and become more present with the people he loves.

Today, he brings that experience into his work supporting other men in their relationships.

There’s a lot in this conversation for anyone who’s been trying to hold everything together while quietly struggling themselves.

Swipe through for part of his story, then join us for the full conversation.

If she doesn’t trust you, you’re wasting your time…trying to explaining yourself. The work is rebuilding that trust within yourself first.

You can have good intentions.
You can love her deeply.
You can even believe you are showing up well.

But if, in the moments that matter most, you get defensive, disappear, shut down, lash out, or make her feelings about you, she learns that your presence is not something she can fully rely on.

That hurts to hear.

Especially when you are trying.

But trust is not built by trying harder to convince her.

It is built by becoming more consistent in who you are when things get uncomfortable.

Can you stay with yourself when she is upset?
Can you hear what hurts without immediately protecting yourself?
Can you remain clear, grounded, and honest without abandoning your own needs?

That is the work.

Not becoming perfect.
Not becoming her emotional punching bag.

Becoming a man who can stay present when love gets difficult.

If trust has become a painful part of your relationship, comment READY and I’ll send you my free Powerful Partner Partnership Exploration Tool to help you identify where your partnership is asking for your attention.

A baby can make you a father. Fatherhood is what makes you a man.

For me, fatherhood has been one of the greatest initiations of my life.

Not because having children suddenly made me more mature, more grounded, or more capable.

It didn’t.

It exposed every place I still had growing to do.

My patience. My selfishness. My relationship with responsibility. My ability to stay present when I was tired, overwhelmed, angry, or afraid.

My daughters did not need me to have it all figured out.

They needed me to keep becoming the kind of man they could trust.

That is the initiation.

Fatherhood keeps asking a man to become someone bigger than the version of himself who only had himself to consider.

If you’re a father, comment below with the one thing fatherhood has asked you to grow in the most.

And if you know another father who needs to hear this, send it to him.

Some experiences don’t end when the moment is over.

We carry them with us, often without realizing how deeply they’re affecting our lives.

In this clip, Markwell shares the story of Miles, a young boy he encountered during his time as a firefighter.

It was an experience he carried for years, along with the guilt and responsibility of feeling like he couldn’t do more to help him.

During a psilocybin journey, Markwell found himself right back in that room, finally facing what his body and nervous system had been holding onto.

What stayed with me was the gratitude he now has for Miles.

Not because the experience wasn’t painful, but because confronting that pain changed the direction of his life.

Our full conversation goes much deeper into PTSD, marriage, fatherhood, destructive coping patterns, healing, and what it took for Markwell to become the man his family needed.
