Words to live by! Excellent quote courtesy of @degierguitars 👌

This mentality clearly runs through their instruments. Brilliantly built basses with oodles of character in the details. Watch our full interview + more coverage from @guitarsummit over on our YouTube channel! by @thatguyonbass

The new Starfire from @guildguitars is here and we are IN LOVE 😍

Featuring awesome bisonic pickups and arguably the two best finishes of 2026, this almost-short scale is an instant winner in our eyes!

@dingwallguitars 🤝 @guitarsummit

Nothing to see here, I was just looking through some B-roll and couldn’t stop staring at the trio of the Nashville, SP1 Maple, and the new John Taylor models 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Don’t say we don’t tell you anything fun 🤫

In our @guitarsummit special episode, we had a little chat with Bene from @harleybentonofficial talking all about the lovely selection of basses they had on show at their booth including their new relic’s series

Come with me to @guitarsummit … very quickly 😂

I’m sure you’ve seen the photos already but I also took my new DJI Pocket 3 for the weekend to capture some saucy B-roll for the podcast, and I loved it so much I’ve thrown it all together quickly for you to enjoy!

There’s about 40 basses shown here, which one is your favourite 👀 and let me know what I should check out more! by @thatguyonbass

We are SO excited for the new basses to enter the Vega series from @baumguitars

Same high quality DNA but with streamlined production to bring the cost down for the player 👏

Their new Nidhogg comes out this week… keep your eyes on their socials! Big thanks to the lovely Jeppe for showing us round the full Baum booth at @guitarsummit - watch the full coverage on n our latest episode! taken in Mannheim, Germany by @thatguyonbass

You miss all the shots you don’t take

On this day FIVE YEARS AGO I went on @inthepocketpod as guest back when Jonny was running the podcast solo!

We ended up having a technical disaster so we had to completely re-record the episode, but I had such a good time I didn’t care and a few months later I asked if I could come on again and not long after that I joined as a co-host!

Since that point we added video to the podcast, travelled to Essex to interview Dan from @ashdownamps , shot not 1 but 2 Guitar Shows dragging 2 Sony’s on gimbals + a pedalboard and laptop, we’ve been to the Fender Showroom in London, @andybaxterbassandguitars in Leeds, met and interviewed guests we thought we’d NEVER have agree to come on, and last weekend we even flew out to Germany to cover guitar summit

The point of this post mainly is if I hadn’t said to Jonny randomly “hey can I co-host this with you?” my life would have been completely different:

No podcast
No serious content
No YouTube channel
No amazing community of bass players who I get the honour of chatting to most days about something we mutually love

None of that

The truth is I owe a tonne of that to Jonny. Sure I’ve put the work in, but the poor guy has been next to me every step of the way, wether he likes it or not 😂

Here’s to the next five years of being pals. Love ya dude x by @thatguyonbass

Home time ✈️

A very brief stop over at the 3rd and final day of @guitarsummit before it’s time for our flight home!

What an excellent weekend it’s been of meeting some amazing companies, making friends, and playing some sick basses

Never meet your heroes though (last pic) 🥲
