She came from Planet Claire! An actual bucket List Gig! A fucking delightful performance by Kate, Cindy and the one of a kind Fred. When they announced last years tour in the states was their final one I thought I’d missed my chance but then they decided to do some UK dates too. What a treat. So much energy, fun, madness and sweat. Age is nothing to these amazing Atlanteans! My first concert in a long time and soaking with sweat by the end! Topaz was a treat and Roam was joy in the air but i never stopped shimmying once. I may be sore tomorrow 💦 🕺 🤘 🪨 🦞 @theb52sband and many of these pics by @baz_ek by @thatidiotjones

9 weeks today since i went into hospital for that new hip. Still a bit tender but general walking has improved to the point where im feeling brave enough to start adding a little more effort into my walking. Never been down the Grey Mares Tail valley from Moffat before so this was a brilliant and beautiful wee adventure. Will definitely come back to get up on the hills above Loch Skeen there. Really lucked out with the weather! ☀️🕶️🥾 by @thatidiotjones

My head, body and heart has been so ruined of late that i’ve only just realised I hadn’t shared my pics from last Octobers The Midnight show in Glasgow. Grateful to Tyler for clocking me at the front and recognising that I’m still barely able to keep it together and simply offering up a hug when I got to meet him after the show (the music unlocks everything!) before this frankly awesome selfie 😎 Always a near religious live show with the energy from the audience nothing but joy and love. Summer is ending soon live for the first time for me, a song that seems written especially for me this year to capture the loss of losing mum and the health struggles all at once. Also special for this being the last time we would see @jupiterwinterband on stage as part of The Midnights live team - thank you @leliabroussard and @royce_whittaker for the last few years energy (patiently waiting for this album - cough cough). As always still missing the second half of the team @varsitybluetim on stage for he IS Mr Midnight. And @ayo_kwe and @klunkfunk rounding out what is an amazing live performance team. Shoutout to our @timmcewans_wooden_spoons Nat and @brooklynknight93 Sean for coming all the way to Glasgow to join in and be as emotionally devastated by live music like i get - in the best way. These boys make music that touches the soul ❤️🎼🎶 by @thatidiotjones

One year without Mum. I will never post about this again. No one can ever be in any doubt how much I loved mum or dad after doing what I did. Caring for her, or dealing with dementia and bowel cancer and having little to no freedom to live my life was nothing compared to dealing with the absence. Dont think my physical agonies last year helped much. How I’ve felt flies in the face of all of my rational thinking and cognitive behaviour therapy training. I know I’m been more than a little mentally ill in (not) coping with the grief but at least the mind is balanced with the physical state at last. I wish my brain worked differently but here i am. All the firsts are done and hopefully my heart and body can recover from all of this now. It will be quite some stretch for me to ever love anyone as much as i loved this wee maniac. #dementia #grief #carers #mum #whythefuckamihashtaggingthis by @thatidiotjones

Day 3 of antics and a bit of this mornings super sunny strolling. Started the day off doing a harbour cruise around the giant harbour and bay’s surrounding the walled city. Beautiful, stunning. This week is the best bargain £250 ive ever spent. In the afternoon i went into the grand masters house and admired the mind blowing armour collection that seriously must have inspired Hidetaka Miyazaki when making Dark Souls then a wee nosy into St Pauls which was unexpectedly emotional inside. Ended the day by making my way to Bar Vader and getting stocious and obviously making more new pals from all over. This morning the weather has been proper summer and the entire place is even more beautiful. Managed another decent walk and more food before the airport. Just an utterly amazing wee break all round. by @thatidiotjones

Second day in Malta was spent doing a tour of the island of Gozo where Dougie and Louise go diving every summer. Might be tempted to go back with them now ive got my head around the place. Lush and green at this time of year i can only dream of how this place must look peak summer. Insane history here - 8,000 year old temple remains and yet more brain boggling history. Had great fun meeting the people on our tour today. Lots of laughs and big shout out to Andy from the Isle of Man and Rafi and his wee mum from Bangladesh (🥹) and lovely Yuko from Japan and the two hilariously fruity boys from the states - lots of in appropriate laughter was had in amongst the sights and history 🤣🙏 by @thatidiotjones

First full day in malta and after the storm me some lovely folks and oor Audrey and Nicola by pure chance too. Shout out to Sandro, Terrence and Darius for adding to the laughs as well. Channelled the spirit of Oliver Reed big time ! 🤣#malta by @thatidiotjones
