How do some kids revise LESS... but still get top grades? 🤔A student sits down for 2 hours of "revision" and 30 minutes in their brain's already checked out. And in the end feel frustrated... tired... with barely any progress to show for it!No wonder some students don't return to do revision... Clearly it doesn't "work"... right?What actually works is structure, not sheer discipline 💯One tactic I get students using straight away who struggle with revision or even working in general: the POMODORO technique. 25 minutes of properly focused work... followed by a short break....that's it.And even if it's just 2 rounds...two 25-minute rounds of real focus beats 2 hours unfocused revision EVERY time!But here's the thing... Pomodoro is just ONE tool. "Mum... I know how to do it but my brain goes blank!" 😩You KNOW your child understands the maths. They can explain it perfectly when you're helping with homework.Even makes you proud 😁But put them in an exam and suddenly... blank 🙈. Here's the thing - their brain is trying to do WAY too much at once.ESPECIALLY when it comes to attempting 6+ mark questions at the end of the paper!Their brain is trying to:📚 Know what topic(s) it is testing🤔 Recall the steps to answer accurately🧮 Check whether their arithmetic and calculations are right ⚠️ Not make any silly mistakes early that bleed into the rest of their solutionIt's no wonder even the highest attaining students freeze in exams! So what should they do instead?Breakdown the question into manageable steps to avoid cognitive overloadBasically...brain-dump everything onto paper. Sounds simple, but it changes EVERYTHING.
