HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FOLKS. 🇺🇸

make sure you spend it well! we only get one a year!

i love this holiday not just because of the drinks, but because of the privilege to be able to spend time with my friends and family. this year has been a mix of ups and downs, seemingly higher highs with lower lows.

but we stay STRONG. 💪🏻 because that’s AMERICAN way! it probably is everywhere else tho too… LOL

remember to stay hydrated, stay safe, and most importantly… STAY TUNED IN TO ALL THINGS MATT.

we put the CAN in AMERICAN!

SWIPE FOR STYLE!

• “MIDWAY” is my latest single and i am super proud of the result. i wanted to see if i could recreate some of the magic found in dubstep tracks from over a decade ago.

this involved a process of rediscovering old mixes that i grew up listening to—some of which are staples of throw edm culture.

i followed similar sound design techniques with modern vst’s to streamline sounds that were revolutionary back then.

with the recent viral content i created, i want to take a moment and appreciate the song that inspired me to make the reel, and the creators of old, who changed my life forever.

i’m building a very specific kind of bass music playlist for small towns, late-night drives, and people who discovered dubstep far away from big cities.

looking for small-town bass music producers + underground artists to help shape it.

Approximately 500 miles separates metro Detroit based producer Sevag H & West Virginia artist That’s Matt. The two met on an electronic music discord server four years ago, but distance can’t stop creativity. The pair have played two shows together and now have released a new collaboration - Swipe. A journey into techno, hardgroove, and UK Garage influenced sounds, the track originally started as a 128 bpm tech house demo before evolving into its final product.
