The moment I placed him in his parents’ arms was one of the most emotional moments of my life. 🤍

People often ask, “How could you carry a baby for 9 months and then let him go?”

The truth is… I wasn’t losing my baby. I was witnessing a dream come true.

I felt love, pride, gratitude, and so many emotions all at once. I had the privilege of protecting him, feeling his kicks, talking to him, and helping him get safely to the people who had been waiting for him.

Surrogacy taught me that love isn’t measured by how tightly you hold on… sometimes it’s measured by how willingly you help someone else hold on.

2 journeys later, I can say this: being a surrogate changed my life forever. 🤍

“Mommy, why did you grow a baby that wasn’t ours?’”

→ “Because some moms can’t grow babies in their tummy, so I got to help another family become parents.”

“‘Did you give the baby away?’”

→ “No, I helped the baby go home to the family who was waiting for them.”

“‘Do you miss the babies?’”

→ “I love them, and I’m happy they’re with their families. My heart can make room for love without taking anything away from us.”

“‘Why would you do that?’”

→ “Because helping people become parents is one of the biggest gifts I can give.”

“‘Can you be our mom and their mom too?’”

→ “I’m your mom forever. Those babies have their own amazing parents who love them forever too.”

Kids understand love better than we give them credit for 🤍

There isn’t just one reason women become surrogates. 🤍

For some, it’s the desire to help someone become a parent. For others, it’s loving pregnancy, wanting to give back, reaching a financial goal, or simply knowing they have the ability to do something incredibly meaningful for another family.

And honestly? It can be a little bit of all of those things.

For me, it’s been about helping families become parents while also creating opportunities for my own family along the way. 🤍

Just incase you needed this message this morning, because I sure did. I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately with so much going on, and I think a lot of the times when shit gets hard it’s so much easier to just say well maybe this isn’t for me, or just give up because it is hard. But if you give up now you’ll never reach where you want to be… Every little step, every conscious effort you put in toward your goal , your future, whatever it is you’re trying to reach , is one step closer. Let’s talk LEGALS 👀📄

If you’re considering becoming a surrogate, this is one part of the process you’ll want to understand before you get there.

Your contract is about SO much more than compensation. There are a lot of details that can affect your journey, which is why having your own attorney and actually understanding what you’re agreeing to is so important.

As someone who’s been through this more than once, I can tell you: ask the questions. Even the ones you think might be “stupid.” There are no stupid questions when it comes to a contract you’re signing.

And no, you don’t have to be a lawyer to understand your surrogacy contract. 🤍

✨ Surrogacy Medical Screening appointment ✨
I flew in Friday morning to Los Angeles for my Medical Screening and here’s what happened at my appointment:

Had my vitals, weight and height checked ✔️
Bloodwork done ✔️
Saline Ultrasound ✔️
Pap ✔️
Reviewed health and pregnancy history with nurse ✔️

I started my cycle litterally right when I got off the plane in LA so this made my appointment super difficult… 😥 I now have to go to my local clinic for some more testing, medical clearance should be in two weeks from your appointment date (sometimes sooner) but I know I’m going to have some additional steps now before I’m off to legals ✍️✨🤞💖 #medicalscreening #surrogate #hrc #ivf #surrogacy taken in Los Angeles, California by @thatsurrogate

Medical Screening ✅
I did run into a couple delays at the appointment, so I do know that there’s gonna be additional steps that I need to take before getting medically cleared.
