I drove to a different park today (in the closest town to us with a grocery store) and tried out a new trail!

I liked that it’s closer to home, but it’s a lot more open with playscapes and swingsets than my regular trail so I don’t get the same feeling of a walk through nature.
It’s also a shorter loop, so it gets repetative on longer walks.
It is very nice though withshade trees sprinkled throughout as well as benches, bench swings, and even some park workout stations for pull ups, situps, etc.

Also...I did another 5k today even though it was slow. Thats two 5k walks two days in a row!

I don't love it as much as my regular trail, but since it's closer to home and is a nice path, it'll go into the rotation...
Also...I just did a 5k for the 2nd day in a row. Who even is this gal?

On our drive back to Texas we stopped at Arches National Park!
We didn't do the full hike for Double Arch or the Windows trail, but we did a bit of walking around both.

5k and a half mile cool down walk this morning. These 3.1 miles started great and then became a slog around mile 2. 🙄
I may be slow, but I did a 5k on a Tuesday morning, so that's a big win in my book.

Take care of yourselves, my friends. Go your own pace and move your body in ways that work for you.

I got a full 5k in today and then a half mile cool down walk. Today's walk started alright, but it was humid and there was a section that slowed me down more than normal...BUT...I still did a 5k on a Tuesday morning, so I'm taking that as a win!

My new mantra when I'm getting too hard on myself is "The trail doesn't care!" Slow or fast, young or old, big or small, 5 minutes or 5 miles...the trail doesn't care, so get out there and move your body in ways that work for you. 🥰

On our last day in Yellowstone we visited a few geysers and I didn't track those walks, but I did track the walk out to our favorite geyser, Great Fountain, and back. She put on a great show for us erupting off and on for about an hour.
The road out to Great Fountain is closed to cars now, so it makes a great walking and biking path.

That's a wrap on the walks in Yellowstone...stay tuned for a few more walks we did as we made our way back to Texas.

This morning was my first outdoor walk back after our vacation. Walking outdoors in TX in September is very different than Wyoming in September!
We were walking at higher elevation, which adds some difficulty, but this heat and humidity is a whole different feeling. 😆
(It's still cooler than August was though!)

Our next stop at Yellowstone was Mud Volcano. This trail had some elevation gain and we got to see Dragon's Mouth Spring, Churning Cauldron, and Mud Volcano, along with other thermal features and lovely views.

Our next stop in Yellowstone was West Thumb Basin along the lake. This walk brought us so many beautiful springs of different colors and hues. This park has so many different environments to explore!

I'm back to the outdoor walking paths in town! My new (to me) watch seems to be tracking the distance the way I'd hoped it would. Yay!

Also, yes I'm using the term "trail" loosely here. It's not the same as "trail running" since I'm on a paved surface, but it is a walking trail through nature. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The next day in Yellowstone, we visited several areas, starting with Fountain Paint Pots Trail. This short boardwalk shows off some cool springs, bubbling paint pots and other thermal features.
