In 1996, Galaxie 500 released this box set. It was near impossible to find at the time. None of the local stores had it, internet shopping wasn’t really a thing yet.. my family went to NYC that Christmas and I called and visited every record store I could, I was sure I’d find it up there. No luck. A few months later, my mom had a copy waiting for me at home. I still have no clue where she found it. I was so excited. A few years later, in desperate times, it was sold off with most of my collection. I had always regretted that. Now, thirty years later, it was hard to track down yet again. But last week, while at my local shop, on a whim, I asked if they’d ever seen a copy come through. They searched their online inventory and it turns out they had one, and it arrived today. Thank you again, my friends at @phonoluxerecords for completing this roundabout journey. by @thatwesredmon

Sometimes I open my kitchen window and give my sister’s dogs treats, like an ice cream man. This is now what happens any time Russel spots me through the window, minding my own business 😆 by @thatwesredmon

Huge shout out to my boy @daveypants999 for making this project a reality. I had shopped around last year trying to find a perfect storage solution for my music collection but nothing was optimal, so I rough sketched what I was looking for and Dave and his people made it happen. I highly recommend visiting his shop Amish Excellence if you’re looking for some custom work. Thanks, Bubby! by @thatwesredmon

Finally got to see Local H tonight, one of my favorite bands. Worth the wait, and even got to meet Scott Lucas who signed my poster and hooked me up with some CDs by @thatwesredmon

Epic mail day (pt. 2)- I also received today the Bedhead box set that includes all three albums plus a disc of B-sides and rarities, courtesy of @thenumerogroup. A ton of old favorites added to the collection today. by @thatwesredmon

Epic mail day (pt 1)- just another example of why I like to order my physical media directly from the artist. In this case, The American Analog Set. Not only did I get a nice little message from the band, they also threw in a bonus CD I didn’t even know existed. So excited about this. by @thatwesredmon

The only part of the ice storm/power outage I enjoyed was watching Loki repeatedly walk through the quilt we hung for warmth like she was a guest on The Tonight Show. by @thatwesredmon

I went to my favorite local record store this weekend and they had a small stack of new, blank cassettes near the register. I mentioned to the cashier I had been reading a book about the history and culture of cassettes, mixtapes, etc. After she rang me up, she slipped one into my bag. Opening this cassette at home, the nostalgia of a clean slate. Analog. Tangible. Endless possibilities. by @thatwesredmon
