I’ve noticed that in the past time people tend to reduce others (especially on the internet) to sole sentences they said, immediately assuming that the other person must mean what they said in the most horrible imaginable way. I most often see this happening to me when I share a controversial "leftist" thought, that liberals just don’t get because they don’t actually read theory or discuss social structures. They just post a happy pride month story or a „smash the patriarchy✌️“ sharepic and that’s it.
So in this post I will explain once and for all why it is NOT misandry when women call out their problems with men in a way that, as some say, puts all men in one box.

What everyone must understand is:
-Patriarchy is a Systematic disease that affects every last one of us.
-Everybody gets benefits AND disadvantages from patriarchy
-Though every person is affected, not everybody is affected the same.
Some may for example get a few disadvantages, but so many benefits that the disadvantages mostly don’t matter - or the other way around.

Gender roles are a human made construct. A fact that, even if you like them, can’t deny. When feminists speak of "men" we do NOT mean every single man as an individual. What we mean is "Men" as the social construct humans made up. Now obviously not every single person that identifies as a man fits into the social construct "Man". Be it because you are a trans man, non-binary, just because you do not identify with the stereotype of a man, or for what reason ever. Those people are not who feminists mean when we say „men are trash“. We mean ONLY men as the social construct that harms everyone.

What do I mean by social construct?
I mean that we humans as a species have made up a specific image of what a man is and what’s manly. Many of which are harmful.

Yes, feminists know that men suffer from patriarchy too and it is part of our fight.
Yes, we know that not every man is evil.
