March 17, 2014-December 29, 2023: Sebastian Almost ten years ago, a little Texas farm dog, the runt of the litter, came into our lives. He healed our hearts from the loss of our golden, Uly. From the very beginning, he was an old soul, serious and introspective. My older brother described his as the Optimus Prime of dogs, strong enough to be gentle. He was the absolute best of all of us and our hearts feel a bit broken today. I know that time will lessen the pain, but grief has a way of leaving its mark. And the immense love we had for him is reflective of how much pain we feel and how much we will miss him. I can only hope that we gave him a fraction of the joy and love that he brought into our lives. Our little Basse, our 90 pound giant, was loyal, the leader of our pack, a saunterer, and the best napping buddy. He held on long enough to say goodbye to Keaton, to have one last Christmas as a family of seven, and he had one final visit to the cabin where he basked in the sun and wandered in the woods. His final days were filled with love, cheeseburgers, and naps by the fire. I only wish we had more time, but to be honest, it would have never been enough. We love you so much our sweet little boy.
