Making, crafting, sewing.. every year I have a new hobby micro passion (and yes, that’s my ADHD brain perhaps). This year I’ve started to sew more, and it’s been the nicest thing.. Going slower, learning trickier things, even the ironing, and then at the end getting to wear the thing I made, could that be any cooler? It’s such a sweet feeling.

Anyway here I am, showing it off, with my cheekiest, naughtiest kitten saying hi too.

This pattern by @matchymatchysewingclub was so easy to follow too, definitely recommend their patterns & guides.

Hey there, I’m Shell, I’m 51, and I use clothes as a small way of being creative, and to feel happy. I thrift, shop from smaller labels, sometimes sew, and love to experiment with pieces that weren’t necessarily meant to go together (and perhaps still don’t), it all helps me feel like me. So please say hi if easy outfits, unexpected combos, and wearing what you want is where you’re at too. by @the.clothes.lover

Just me attempting to be more chill with the public OOTD.

Outfit dets:
Button up linen Eleanor tank (worn back to front, with buttons at the front instead of the back): @featherandnoise
Lola barrel jeans with the front seam detail: @featherandnoise (I always get so many comments on these)
The most fave sandals: @radicalyes
Bag: @olend_backpacks

I love these leopard barrel jeans a lot, but I didn’t want every time I wore them to be solely a leopard moment. Not that I don’t love that, but I also want them to become something I reach for again & again.
Here’s three looks I feel super comfortable and put together in, from school drop off to coffee out and city days.

Outfit dets:
Leopard barrel jeans: @vrg.grl
Carter stripe long sleeve tee: @featherandnoise
Red top: @zara (maybe 5 years old)
Graphic tee: @sportsgirl
Loafers: thrifted
Twoobs sandals: thrifted

Desperately trying to wear more summer dresses before all the warm weather is gone from here! Autumn in Melbourne has been stunning, but I’m not really a fan of the cooler months, although maybe it’s more about how long it lasts here..? Anyway here I am doing my best to pretend it’s not happening!

Here’s the dress dets:
Mostly pink large striped dress from @obusclothing
Both green and white dresses from @handsom

Mood altering dress up! Sometimes our clothes can have such an impact on how we feel, and this dress definitely does for me.
This @obusclothing dress is maybe six years old now, but I always feel so happy in it (it’s totally made for twirling). This dress was part of an incredible collaboration with artist @jahnf_bless, which featured so many beautiful pieces.

Outfit details: dress by @obusclothing, sandals & bag (this time with the strap removed to transform into clutch) by @radicalyes

Hope everyone is having a beautiful Easter (if you celebrate) & breezy long weekend xx

grwm, dressing to be happy, what to wear in April, mum style, wearing prints, easy everyday style, colourful style, style over 40, style over 50, real outfits, what I wore today, anytime outfit, colorful dress, dopamine dressing by @the.clothes.lover

For the longest while my style & joy in dressing kind of slid away from me, into a safe, not too patterny, not too bright uniform - I guess I didn’t want to stand out, and I didn’t..

The thing is tho, that’s not really me, that’s not what I enjoyed about clothes.. so now a few years later I’m back trying to find that creativity & sense of me again.

So I’m dressing for the joy of it, and the fun of it - hope you are too xx

Don’t save that special dress (or in this case jumpsuit!), wear it, wear it whenever you want. I’m so guilty of saving pieces, or of needing a reason to wear a particular favourite piece. Well from now on the reason can just be that I want to, right? No one else cares, and if they do, well that’s their time lost you know? xx

Here’s the outfits dets ⬇️ Jumpsuit from @obusclothing, my fave sandals, and bag from @radicalyes, belt (thrifted somewhere decades ago)

Just a few quick pics of outfits lately - with messy hair & messy room included!

I’ve actually been thinking of setting myself a ‘showing up’ challenge here.. but then I also keep talking myself out of it - does anyone else do this?!

So anyway here I am trying not to overthink (but of course doing that), and hoping posting can become a bit more of a pattern.. xx
