I have come to realize that unexpected alliances is one of my favorite tropes. This book is about challenging the ideologies you were raised with. It's about questioning if someone should be hated just because they were raised in a different place than you. I loved how the characters learned that not everyone fits in the little box you try to categorize them into. If you enjoy reading books where the characters learn to love and accept what they were taught to hate then this book is for you. Wow!! This book did it for me. I absolutely loved it! I was transfixed reading this in one sitting while everything around me melted away. I loved how this book kept me on my toes the entire time. I went through every emotion while reading; laughing, crying, completely shocked. The author did an incredible job of portraying the reality of addiction and its often heartbreaking consequences. She also did a great job of making me feel conflicted going back and forth on who I wanted the FMC to end up with. I felt like i was a rag doll being tugged by my arms in both directions. I was so invested in these characters. This book really tugged at my heart strings. I think a lot of people will enjoy reading this book. It has war, strategizing, a love triangle, some spice, magic, prophecies, mystery, and best of all it is a book that really makes you feel something. I 1000% recommend it.
