Before we ask, “Why are Muslim women leaving Islam?” perhaps we should ask a harder question: What version of Islam did we show them?

A woman is accountable for her own choices. Her sins are hers, just as a man's sins are his. But accountability doesn't mean we get to ignore our own.

When a girl grows up watching her brother receive freedom while she receives restrictions…
When her education is treated as optional…
When her voice is silenced in the name of obedience…
When qawwam becomes a licence for control…
When dowry is demanded while mahr is forgotten…
When she is expected to serve an entire household…
When abuse is excused as “discipline”…
When honour becomes more important than her life…
When culture is repeatedly presented to her as Islam…
we shouldn't be surprised when she struggles to recognise the Islam we claim to represent.

There is growing concern about Muslim women entering relationships or marriages with non-Muslim men and, in some cases, distancing themselves from Islam.

That does not make haram halal. But it should make us stop and reflect.

Because the answer cannot simply be: “Control women more.”

The answer is:
• Teach them Islam.
• Give them knowledge.
• Give them dignity.
• Give them their rights.
• Raise sons who understand responsibility, not entitlement.
• Raise daughters who know their worth before Allah.
• Build marriages based on mercy, not fear.
• And stop calling culture Islam.

The Qur’an does not command Muslims to kill Non-Muslims.

Yes, a few verses when read without context can sound harsh.

But those verses were revealed in specific wartime situations, not as blanket commands against people of other faiths.

Islam’s core values are justice, mercy, and peace.

For centuries, Muslim societies lived alongside Jews and Christians not by erasing them, but by coexisting with them.

Sacred texts deserve context.
History deserves honesty.

Save this and share it with someone who needs to know.

We read the Qur’an.

But do we let it read us?

Some of us only open it in Ramadan.

Some of us open it when we’re desperate.

But the Qur’an was sent as:
• Guidance.
• Healing.
• Mercy.

Imagine if tonight you opened it not out of guilt but out of longing.

Comment “Ya Rabb” if you want the Qur’an to be part of your daily life again.

Save this reminder for your heart.

A name is more than a beautiful combination of letters. It carries meaning, identity and sometimes a legacy.

In Islam, choosing a good name is a responsibility, not a race to find the rarest or most aesthetic one.

Before trusting a baby-name page or an Instagram post, do your research. Verify the meaning, trace its linguistic roots and understand what you're naming your child.

Because your child deserves a name whose meaning is as beautiful as its sound.

Save this post and share it with expecting parents!

Being savage isn't a personality.
Being rude isn't honesty.
And making people laugh at someone else's expense doesn't automatically make it harmless.

We've normalised foul language, celebrated brutal comebacks, and started confusing harshness with strength.

But somewhere in all that noise, we've forgotten the weight Islam places on good akhlaq.

The Prophet ﷺ was the best of people in character. So what does our behaviour say about the example we're supposed to follow?

Your worship matters.
Your words matter.
And how you treat people matters, too.

Before you defend your words as “just a joke,” ask yourself: would you be comfortable answering to Allah for them?

We eagerly show up for wedding feasts, but when someone loses a loved one, do we show up with the same enthusiasm to ease their burden?

Tea must be served. Biryani must be arranged. And if the food falls short of expectations, there is always someone ready to complain.

But what about the family that is grieving? The family that has barely processed its loss, yet feels obliged to host and serve everyone who walks through the door?

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us a different approach.

When Ja'far (RA) died, the Prophet ﷺ instructed people to prepare food for his family because they were overwhelmed by their loss. (Sunan Abi Dawud 3132)

The community was told to feed the bereaved, not expect the bereaved to feed the community.

There is nothing inherently wrong with sharing a meal or comforting a grieving family. The problem begins when customs become obligations and cultural expectations add to someone's grief.

The next time you visit a grieving family, ask yourself: Am I here to ease their burden, or have I become another responsibility they must manage?

Be the person who sends the food, offers the help, and remembers the deceased in their prayers. Not the person who arrives expecting to be served.

Not every friend is meant to walk with you towards Jannah. And not every friendship is as harmless as it seems.

The people around you influence what you normalise, what you tolerate, and sometimes, how close you remain to Allah.

Choose friends who remind you to pray when you become lazy, share reminders that strengthen your Iman, correct you when you go astray, and genuinely want goodness for your Akhirah.

And remember, Islam doesn't teach us to mistreat people who believe differently. It teaches us to be just and kind while choosing our closest companions wisely.

One day, the friendships built around sin may become a source of regret. But companionship rooted in righteousness is something worth striving for.

May Allah bless us with friends who bring us closer to Him, help us remain steadfast upon His Deen, and reunite us in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.

Tag a friend who reminds you of Allah.

“Hijab is a journey.”

And yes, it can be.

But a journey means you’re moving.

You don’t have to be perfect to take the next step. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to be honest with yourself about whether you’re actually moving towards Allah or simply getting comfortable with “someday.”

Maybe the question isn't, “Am I ready for hijab?”
Maybe it's, “Am I willing to take the next step?”

May Allah make obedience beloved to our hearts and grant us the courage to keep walking towards Him. Ameen.

What do you think, can “Hijab is a journey” sometimes become a reason to stay where we are?

#Hijab #HijabJourney #Modesty #IslamicReminder #MuslimWomen by @the.divine.connect

Somewhere along the way, we started talking about Islam as though it were a rulebook written primarily for women.

Her hijab.
Her clothes.
Her marriage.
Her divorce.
Her behaviour.

But what about our Salah?
Our Zakat?
Our self-control?
Our honesty?
Our anger?
Our gaze?
Our treatment of the vulnerable?
Our Huqooq-ul-Ibaad?

Hijab is Fard. Period.

But so is Salah.
So is Zakat.
So is fasting.
So are justice, honesty, restraint and fulfilling the rights of people.

The Qur'an does not ask men to become spectators of women's modesty. It asks believing men to lower their gaze too.

It doesn't ask women to carry the entire burden of preserving morality. It asks all of us to obey Allah.

Perhaps the uncomfortable question isn't whether women are following Islam enough.

Perhaps it's whether we have reduced Islam to the parts that are easiest to demand from someone else.

The Qur'an wasn't revealed for women alone.

And our Islam shouldn't be reduced to women alone.

“Islam is too restrictive.”

We hear it often.

Too many rules.
Too many boundaries.
Too many things Muslims supposedly “can’t” do.

But perhaps we rarely stop to ask why those boundaries exist.

Maybe the real question is:

Who benefits when alcohol is normalised?
Who profits when people gamble?
Who benefits from addiction?
Who profits from sexualisation?
Who benefits from debt, fraud, exploitation and corruption?

Because Islam didn't simply say “no.”

It asked us to look beyond the immediate pleasure, convenience or profit and consider what those things do to individuals, families and society.

Some industries thrive precisely because human weakness is profitable.

And Islam draws a line there.

Not because it hates pleasure.
Not because it hates progress.
Not because it is “anti-business.”

But because not everything that can be sold should be sold, and not everything that makes money is good for humanity.

So maybe the question isn't: “Why is Islam so restrictive?”

Maybe it's: “What is Islam trying to protect us from?”

Swipe through the 13 industries and decide for yourself.

We keep talking about Muslim representation.

And yes, we need more Muslims in places where our communities are underrepresented such as science, medicine, research, technology, education, law, entrepreneurship, public service and many other fields where our contribution can bring real khayr.

But somewhere along the way, representation can become a race.

Every profession becomes something we must enter.
Every competition becomes something we must win.
Every space becomes something we must occupy.

But Islam never taught us that every open door is ours to walk through.

There are things that benefit us.
Things that don't.
Things that are permissible.
And things Allah has explicitly prohibited.

And knowing the difference is part of living with purpose.

The same applies to men and women.

Equal in spiritual worth does not mean identical in biology, strengths, responsibilities or every role we choose to take. We don't need to spend our lives proving that one can become exactly like the other.

Allah says: “And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you exceed others... And ask Allah of His bounty.” - Surah An-Nisa 4:32

Strive. Build. Learn. Compete in goodness.
But remember: Not every ramp is yours to walk down.

Maybe the goal isn't to be everywhere.
Maybe it's to be exactly where you can bring the most khayr.

“Mullah!” said as though being religious is something to be ashamed of.

He prays → Mullah.
He studies Qur’an → Mullah.
He avoids haram → Mullah.

But when did holding onto your deen become an insult?

The Prophet ﷺ said: “If Allah wants good for a person, He makes him comprehend the religion.”
- Sahih al-Bukhari 71

So if “mullah” means someone who strives to learn and practise his deen,
Alhamdulillah. Call him that.

You don't need to abandon your faith to earn people's approval.

Let them mock. You keep your deen.

What matters isn't what people call you, it's what Allah sees in you.

So, be a Mullah. And make it your profession.
