One of our favourite finds from the latest drop. Reebok experimented with some surprisingly forward-thinking eyewear around the turn of the millennium, and this pair is a great example. Shield sunglasses in satin dusty rose and forest green with matching overlaid lenses (1997–2002). Black integrated rubber nose piece and sculpted rubber temple tips. Giorgio Armani Spring 2001 runway shield sunglasses. Featuring gold metal temples and a matching nose bridge, paired with a single rose brown lens finished with frosted upper and lower edges. Worn by both male and female models on the Spring 2001 runway, reflecting the collection’s shared approach to eyewear across the show (the male runway images shown here do not feature this particular frame). The new drop is live. This one is a special one, built around designs that are genuinely hard to find and harder to forget. Opening with this Cerruti 1881 shield. A continuous brown tinted lens extends into the temples, merging optic and frame into a single unbroken surface. The nose bridge and temple tips are black acetate, grounding the form with a sculpted geometric cutout on the temples. The original case is biomorphic in form, and as carefully resolved as the frame it contains. Worn by @missd.andra by @the.dryads

We recently managed to source a group of pairs from Parasite’s earliest collections, spanning 2002, 2003 and 2005. Having them together made the comparison hard to resist. Parasite was founded in France by Hugo Martin, who had first presented the concept at a Jura eyewear design competition in 2000: frames with four temples that grip the sides of the head rather than resting on the ears. He named the system Stereo, and when the brand launched two years later, it was the only thing he made. The name Parasite came from the way the frames attach. They cling. They don’t sit. What’s striking, looking across these three collections side by side, is how consistently the silhouettes evolve without losing the original logic. The earliest pieces are the most reduced: rimless shields, wire approaching invisibility, the Stereo arms doing all the work. By 2005 the forms have become more deliberate, the lenses more architectural, but the underlying idea remains the same.
