Some behind the scenes clips from the Witness Series last Saturday hosted by @kristi_the_artist_rangel! What a wonderful event for folks to come and enjoy the beauty of a garden amongst the concrete jungle of Houston. 🌱👩🏾‍🌾🥕🥒

I had the opportunity to harvest veggies and herbs, and use them in my dishes for folks to try! Such a cool opportunity to see my dishes come full circle from dirt to table 😆 I made a cold bean salad, lemon balm ginger “tea-monade,” and watermelon juice with basil. Harvested from the garden were cucumber, parsley, lemon balm, and basil!

I loved the enthusiasm from patrons about my food, poetry from @sistersoftheyamhtx, and gardening with @girlonthegrow. And not the mention, the weather was perfect!! Still on cloud nine 💚 by @the.edgieveggie

Join us on May 23, 2026 for Witness Series 2026 Part 2: Earth Bound at the Third Ward Gardens @ Riverside Methodist Church. The awakening of spring offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature’s healing bounty through a Spring Tea Party. More than just a social gathering, this event is a chance to delve into the world of local medicinal herbs, guided by the knowledge of Janice Brown - @girlonthegrow.

Garden fairy tales and poetry will be shared by sisters of the yam - @sistersoftheyamhtx - to inspire attendees to create their own original works. Come discover why gardens are important intergenerational spaces that are portals to ancestral wisdom. Light bites and herbal tea choices created by Chef Sakinah, The Edgie Veggie - @the.edgieveggie , will served.

Spend a Sunday with me doing in-house private meal prep for my client 🥰🍛

It’s been a few months since I’ve gotten this opportunity and I’m in love! I’ll try to bring y’all along for a day of cooking more often 😌 by @the.edgieveggie

REPOST because why does IG embarrass me and make my voice sound like a squirrel on my reels? 😩 Anyway… back to the regularly scheduled program 🤣

Does anyone else meal prep during the week and not the weekend, or it’s just me? 😅

This has been really working for me to free up some of my time on the weekends and make it so I can enjoy it after the work week!

How’s this quiche look to yall? 🤭😋

Another successful cooking class in the books courtesy of @lifestyledocs! 👩🏾‍🍳✨ I’m so thankful they’ve given me a platform to share my business and my love for cooking for the past 2 years 💚

Meat-less loaf, mashed potatoes and parsnips, and simple veggie gravy were a hit! Thank you to the lovely ladies who came out to support me and learn more about plant-based cooking!

Are you all interested in the recipe? If so, comment below! 🤗 by @the.edgieveggie
