Nobody profits from a mother who trusts her instincts at 3am. Sit with that one.

The sleep training industry didn’t rise because mothers stopped loving their babies. It rose because the village disappeared. Because we asked one woman to do the work of ten and then sold her a solution when she broke.

So this isn’t a judgment of mothers who trained. It’s an indictment of the culture that left us so alone that training felt like survival. The mothers were never the problem. The missing village is.

The village isn’t something we’re waiting for.

It’s something we’re already building. Slowly. Imperfectly. One choice at a time.

We build it in the listening. Not the fixing. Just the listening.

We build it when we show up even though it’s inconvenient. Even when we’re tired. Even when our own arms are already full.

We build it in the empathy we offer a mother whose choices look nothing like ours. In the open hands. The open heart. The willingness to hold space for someone walking a path we’ve never walked.

Because most mothers are doing the best they can with what they have and what they know in this moment. And the village was never meant to judge that. It was meant to widen it.

To widen what’s possible. To heal what’s been carried alone for too long. To remember, together, what we were never meant to do in isolation.

Most couples who choose partnership
Aren’t actually choosing Union
They may think… they are

But Union is in essence the mirror
It is the initiation
The rite of passage
The threshold of becoming
Forged in the Fire
And crossed together
Hand in heart

Over and over and over again

Not because it’s easy
Or spiritual
Because it an assignment

Those couples know
Deep down … this is deeper than a relationship

You are my Divine appointment
And I am yours

Through the eyes of God
We choose to see the mirror I am to you
And you to me

We do not walk it blindly
We walk it with reverence for the alchemical death and rebirth that it is

We do not shrink from its biting flames
We do not get devoured by its oceanic deep waters
We learn to dance together inside the mystery of its embrace

Moving as two whole parts
Expanding the other as we ourselves expand
Through the mud and grit and ecstasy that is

Small hands. Big dirt.

He pressed his fingers in like he already knew this is where things begin.

Not in the clean spaces. In the ground.

In the dark, soft, living thing that smells like rain hasn’t come yet but it will.

He didn’t ask what he was doing. He just… did it. The way we forget we’re allowed to.

Something is planted now. In the pot. And in me.

Nine months in. Nine months out. Nine months around. (Almost)

And somewhere in the middle of all of it I started finding myself again.

Not instead of mother. Alongside her.

Noah turned eight months just two days ago. He’s reaching for the floor. Ready to crawl. Ready to explore the world outside of my arms in a way he hasn’t been until now.

And I can feel it.

The initiatory doorway opening. Not just for him. For me too.

Because that’s the thing no one tells you about motherhood.

It doesn’t initiate you once.

Threshold after threshold after threshold.

And if you’re really listening, really paying attention to the micro whispers, it’s communicating with you the entire time.

The divine intelligence of it all. It speaks. It lives. It breathes.

We just have to be quiet enough to hear it.

Your relationship is the most advanced spiritual practice you will ever choose to enter

not a yoga mat. not a retreat in Peru. not the next teacher, the next modality, the next healing container…

the person sleeping next to you

the one who shows you the parts you cannot see alone. who calls you forward into the more you didn’t know was possible

we didn’t choose this path because it’s easy. we chose it because every time we walked into the fire we found something in there we couldn’t find anywhere else

the things we thought we’d take to our graves… every single one was an invitation

not to fix each other. to meet ourselves more honestly than we ever had before

and I’m okay with that.

we live in a time where phrases go viral before anyone stops to ask what frequency am I actually moving in right now.

words carry energy.
phrases carry transmission.
and we are always, always teaching.

Most of us were never taught to fight fair

We were taught to defend, shut down or attack

And if we’re being honest… Scott and I have said things to each other we can’t take back

But what we’ve realized through trial by fire and almost a decade of doing the work with each other is that fighting fair isn’t about being nice

It’s about staying in the room for the real conversation

And not running

Fighting isn’t actually the problem, it’s what you do inside the fight that matters most
