EM-CLASSISM

This took me mad long to create! Non-stop trial and error, failing, retrying, figuring out everything. Built the entire edit in After Effects using nothing but masks and keyframes 👨🏻‍💻

Kandakarnan Theyyam (Thira) specifically represents the deity Kandakarnan, who is believed to be a fierce and powerful form of Lord Shiva. The performance involves intricate rituals, including the preparation of the performer, who undergoes a transformation into the deity through elaborate makeup, costumes, and rituals. It is deeply rooted in the local culture and is performed to honor deities, spirits, and ancestors.

Kandakarnan Theyyam, like other forms of Theyyam, is not just a performance but a sacred act of devotion and a means of connecting with the divine. It reflects the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Kerala and continues to be an integral part of the region’s traditions.
