📚 Books worth your time, old + new
🎭 Recs for whatever you're in the mood for
⭐ The Greats = my essential reads
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We read a LOT of books. These are the ones that actually earned 5 stars. ⭐📚

Not just books we liked. These are the books that stood out from everything else we’ve read in 2026—the ones that made us laugh, cry, think, completely lose track of time, or immediately start telling other people, “You HAVE to read this.”

Mom and I rounded up every book we’ve rated 5 stars or higher so far this year, and our lists are all over the place—in the best way. There’s contemporary fiction, romance, fantasy, thrillers and a few books that are nearly impossible to put neatly into one category.

If you’re looking for your next great read, start here.

🎥 Our full 5-Star Reads of 2026 video is now on YouTube. We’re talking about why each book earned its rating, which ones we can’t stop recommending, and which books made BOTH of our lists.

Watch the full video through the YouTube link in our bio.

Then come back and tell us: What’s the best book YOU’VE read in 2026 so far? We’re always looking for the next book that earns a spot on our essential bookshelf.

Happy reading! 🌼📚

Hi — I’m Tannen! 🙋‍♀️ And this isn’t just another bookstagram.

Here, I’ll share books that truly matter — stories and ideas that stay with you, change you, and are actually worth your time.

I’m a picky reader. I won’t always recommend the most popular new release — I’m here for the transformative, timeless, powerful reads.

Books shaped my childhood, my education, and my love of learning and entertainment. Over time, I’ve learned how to tell the difference between good books and great ones - and that’s what I want to share here.

You won’t find perfectly color-coordinated shelves or unattainable reading habits. (Truly — shout-out to those accounts, your libraries are beautiful.)

My lighting won’t always be ideal. My hair and makeup won’t always be done. And my background will probably show off my lovingly lived-in basement apartment.

But through it all, I hope you’ll find books that are truly worth your time — books that challenge and expand your mind, leave something with you beyond escape, and help you fall a little more in love with reading.

I’m so glad you’re here. Now let’s get reading 🌼📚

If you’ve ever wanted to host your own book retreat… you’re going to want to see what we’re putting together. 👀📚🔎

My mom and I have hosted book retreats before, but this time, we’re taking things to a whole new level.

We’re building a suspense & thriller-themed book retreat from the ground up—and we’re bringing you along for the entire process. 🕵️‍♀️

Over the next few videos, we’ll be diving into the books, the games, the activities, the ridiculously fun details, and all the little things that turn a weekend of reading into a full-on experience.

And eventually, we’re hoping to make it possible for YOU to create your own book retreat, too. 👀

There might even be a little something you can get your hands on when we’re finished… but we’re not quite ready to reveal that yet. 😉

So save this series and follow along—because things are about to get very suspicious.

And tell me: If you could attend a suspense/thriller book retreat, what’s ONE thing you’d want included? 🔎👇

🍂 THE AUTUMN TBR BET — PART 2/2
Because apparently we looked at our TBR and thought, “Yep. We need MORE books to put ourselves through this.” 😂

Here are the rest of the books my mom and I are betting our autumn reading on! 📚🍂
We've got creepy reads, cozy reads, books we've been meaning to read forever, and a few that we're going into with some VERY high expectations. 👀

Now the real challenge begins: actually reading all of these and finding out which ones live up to the hype.

And when autumn is over, we're coming back to tell you which books surprised us, which ones lived up to our expectations, and which ones absolutely did NOT. 😂

📚Books Mentioned:
• When the Fireflies Dance by Aisha Hassan
• The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer
• Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister
• One of Us Knows by Alyssa Cole

🍁 Now that you've seen the whole TBR: Which book are you most excited for us to read? And which one do you think is going to be our favorite?

Make your predictions below—we'll see who was right at the end of the season! 👇

🍂 THE AUTUMN TBR BET — PART 1/2
Nothing like putting a bunch of books on a pedestal and then spending three months finding out if they actually deserve to be there. 😂

My mom and I picked the books we're both most excited to read this autumn, and now we're officially putting our TBR to the test.
Some are creepy. Some are cozy. Some have been sitting on our shelves WAY too long. And a few of them have expectations that are probably a little too high. 😂

But that's the fun part—we're actually going to READ them and then come back at the end of the season and see which books lived up to the hype, which surprised us, and which ones… maybe shouldn't have made the bet. 👀

📚 Books Mentioned:
• The Unknown by Riley Sager
• IT by Stephen King
• Beth is Dead by Katie Bernet
• Burnt Offerings by Robert Marasco

🍁 Make your prediction: Which book from our list do you think we're going to love the most? Tell us in the comments—and we'll see if you were right at the end of autumn! 👇

We read 55 books this summer—and we definitely wouldn't recommend all of them. 📚

This is our rapid fire summer reading recap:
✅ YES: Add it to your TBR
🤔 MAYBE: It needs the right reader
❌ NO: We'd recommend something else instead

No long summaries. No pretending we loved everything. Just our honest first reaction to each book and whether we think it deserves your reading time.

Now it's your turn: What was your biggest YES, MAYBE or NO book you read this summer?

Save this before choosing your next book and tell us which verdict you want us to explain in more detail.

Forget the synopsis. Read the dedication. 👀📚

Some book dedications are sweet. Some are heartbreaking. And some are so good they might convince you to read the book before you even make it to page one.

I find these dedications so intriguing that I am going to try to convince you to read these books based on those alone.

No plot summaries. No star ratings. Just one tiny page and a potentially questionable amount of judgment. 😂

👉 Swipe through and tell me: which dedication would convince YOU to read the book?

And save this for your next TBR hunt—because apparently I've found a new way to choose what to read next.

Happy Reading! 🌸

Not trying to spark controversy, just saying my truth 🤷.

Apparently, all I need to get my life together is an audiobook and a long list of chores. 😂🎧📚

I genuinely don’t know how I would fit reading into my life without audiobooks. Give me a good story in my headphones and suddenly I’m cleaning the house, doing laundry, running errands… basically becoming a productive member of society. 😅

Now if someone could just convince Libby to add about 12 more copies of every book I have on hold so I don’t have to wait 15 WEEKS for my next audiobook, that would be great. 🙃

🎧 What audiobook are you listening to right now? Drop the title below—I need to know what I should put on my holds list! 👇

After tackling a few 800+ page books, I am SO ready for some shorter, creepier reads. 😂🍂

I’m going ALL IN on spooky horror, thrillers, and mysteries for the next few months, and Burnt Offerings by Robert Marasco felt like the perfect place to start.

Written in 1973, this is a classic haunted house story about a couple who rents a beautiful New York home for an unbelievably good price… with one strange condition: they have to take care of the elderly woman who lives in the attic. And once strange things start happening, they begin to wonder what exactly is going on with the woman—and the house.

I have HIGH hopes for this one. 👀 I’ll let you know what I think when I finish it!

🍁 Now I want to know what YOU'RE reading! Tell me the book you're currently reading + one word to describe how you're feeling about it. 👇
