Eleven years ago today, Rowen entered our world and changed it in more ways than I ever could have imagined.

The past 11 years have held a little bit of everything. There have been highs and lows. Celebrations and challenges. Questions, lessons, worries, victories and more beautiful memories than I could ever fit into one post.

And through all of it, there has been so much growth.

His growth, of course. Watching him learn, work hard, find his way, surprise us, make friends, try new things and become more and more Rowen every year.

But also our growth.

Rowen has taught us to slow down and celebrate progress. To look at what someone can do instead of assuming what they can’t. To make room. To expect more. To include. To find joy in the smallest moments and to never underestimate the impact one person can have on the people around them.

And what I love most is that his impact extends so far beyond our family. In 11 years, I’ve watched this boy inspire, teach and bring joy to more people than he will probably ever realize.

He has made our family better. He has made our lives fuller. And I truly believe he has made the little corner of the world around him better simply by being exactly who he is.

Happy 11th Birthday, Rowen. 🎂

What a privilege it is to have a front-row seat to your life.

What I’m learning over the last almost 11 years and reminding myself daily…you’re not supposed to know everything. You don’t have to do everything perfectly. Loving, showing up, and learning alongside your child is enough. 🙌🏼
