hope y'all had the newest of moons 💙🌑💖

i had the opportunity to noodle with the cosmic Pheonix Amadi ( @spellsforfreedom ) earlier this month, blending the sonic crust of the Lyra with Pheonix's ethereal vocal twiddlings – i hope you all enjoy!

hope y'all get a chance to listen to a bit of thundersong~birdsong as you recover from [redacted] today – i wanted to throw down some technical nonsense about it for those interested!

all sounds were made on SOMA's Lyra – a silly hunk of metal i've found affinity with – either looped dry through SOMA's Cosmos or resampled doubly through Hologram's Microcosm and sunk behind an 8-second EMT-140. i want to compile a walkthrough soon on the makings of each layer, especially the various rain stages made possible by the Lyra's output bleed and delay lines. minor eq and tube saturation through Hendyamps' Michelangelo was used to exaggerate depth while mixing, though much went largely unprocessed in post.

enjoy! #ambient #synth #soundbath #meditation #soundscape #birds #sounddesign by @the.faraday.cage

⛈️ thundersong~birdsong 🕊️

the last few months have wrought a little ~too~ much change – a menagerie of shatterings find me fled from Brooklyn for westbound wood, reaquainting myself with its isolations. sonic backrops i'd grown accustomed too in traffic and boisterous passerbys were left to the relative void of wind-whipped leaves and bespeckled birdsong – a gentler proposal on paper, though it suffocated me. i'd begun to seek a sort of peace in occasional thunderstorms – a fear of mine carried into adulthood – where even in terror, my world would breathe again, the need to survive verbalized in the air around me. i made myself a friend in these months, patterings on my Lyra i could barely contain, easing myself into relentless thought set against synthetic rain. i found a kid i gave up on in these storms i made for myself – a kid i'm beginning to hear again in moments of bespeckled birdsong. i hope you can find something of your own in these storms – be well.

friend and cellist @pancepony joined me at @workinprogressnyc third annual artist showcase – Echoes – as a live gallery installation exploring resonance, memory, and connection across time and space. i release unto thee our inciting performances and encores, strung seamlessly for your enjoyment.

i'm looking to soundscape galleries more often with any and all musicians who wish to frolic ambiently for silly lengths of time – if you have a gallery that is unfortunately noiseless or want to collaborate, have at it.
