Vogue Business recently asked me about the legal risks of smart glasses and AI advertising.

Smart glasses can see what you look at, pick up, and react to in real time. For brands, that’s the most valuable advertising data ever created.

The problem is consent — these devices record everyone around the wearer, including people who never agreed to be recorded.

The more powerful the data, the bigger the legal risk. And the law hasn’t caught up yet.

Everyone wants more clients. @shermin.lakha wanted to become more useful.

Instead of asking, “How do I get people to hire me?” she asked: “How do I give people tools they can use today?”

That’s why she started teaching AI workshops.

Not because every attendee would become a client. Because when you help people solve real problems, trust comes first. And trust has a way of turning into opportunity.

The lesson: Stop leading with a pitch. Lead with value. The business follows.

This was unlike any dinner I have hosted.

Last week I co-hosted the first @nyfwcollections Salon Series dinner with @__toribell, Head of Partnerships for NYFW Collections.

The night wasn’t just about fashion, founders, or creatives. It was about brands, the executives and leaders shaping their story, and what it means to bring them into the Fashion Week conversation with intention.

@the.firstcall exists for exactly this, where proximity to the right people becomes its own kind of opportunity.
