Ad | Over the next thirty days I’m working with @propercloth to showcase three outfits inspired by vintage photographs using their Oxford Cloth Button Downs.

Today’s look is inspired by vintage hikers, with ProperCloth’s Pima Cotton OCBD in blue layered under a vintage polo neck jumper and a vintage @thenorthface down vest. I’ve then got some @3sixteen ecru jeans and @redwingheritage boots

You shouldn’t have to be an expert to buy nice jeans, so here’s my breakdown of what I look for when shopping for them. I especially love the quote from @nolandanielwhite’s recent video on selvedge denim with regards to it being an indication of craftsmanship but not inherently a sign of quality per se.

From my own personal experience I’d strongly recommend jeans from @drakesdiary, @3sixteen and @wrangler, but there are so many other great options!

The perfect capsule wardrobe does not exist, nor can it! as a concept capital order of the fundamentally flawed on the fact they exist simply promote increased consumption through the guise of curation. Build a wardrobe iteratively and over time, not because a list tells you to!

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting thoroughly fed up of brands overcharging for poor quality products while claiming they’ve got various moral and environmental standards. It’s just greenwashing! This is why vintage is almost always the best option

You shouldn’t have to be an expert to buy nice things… so here’s what I look for when buying Oxford Cloth Button Downs.

They’re the most versatile shirt in any wardrobe, and maligned by poor quality versions at retail. My go to’s are @kamakuraclassics for your straight down the middle ocbd, or a @keaton_chase_usa popover for something a little bit more fun.

In terms of vintage options, the world is your oyster!
