No dream is too big, and mine is quite humble!...

Hi everyone, I'm Jem, and this is Peggy, my loyal companion, my muse, and the love of my life!

For as long as I can remember, I've longed to have my own land filled with wildflower meadows, fruit trees, bee hives and a pumpkin patch! The vision wouldn’t be complete however, without cats! I dream of rescuing strays and spoiling them with all the love they deserve, for my happiest moments are when I'm helping animals in need. To watch them at ease, stretching out as they bask in the sun and frolick carefree about the garden, would truly fill my soul!

Ducks and geese have since joined my vision too! In 2018, I discovered many abandoned domestic waterfowl, and I quickly fell in love with these beautiful creatures. This cause is now very close to my heart. I imagine a big pond with a secret island, a perfect hideaway for both the animals and me!

WE HAVE SO MANY EXCITING PLANS!!

For now, I'd love to have a cozy little campervan for Peggy and me to enjoy some big travels. It would be a fantastic way to paint and sell my work around the world while keeping an eye out for the perfect place to call home. We don't know where we'll eventually settle, but I believe I'll know the place when I find it!!

As I share my creative ideas through art, I aim to build a respected name for myself, with the ultimate goal of funding a wonderful life for Peggy, myself, and all the creatures, great and small, that will cross our paths.

Every piece of my art that you should add to your collection is created with love and fueled by my dreams for the future. Your support helps fund our happily ever after!

You WILL be judged!! Fun at the fair! @artfaircheshire

This board was one of my favourite parts of the fair, there was so much creativity and humour all mashed together. A collective masterpiece, I laughed a lot!

Of course it was fantastic to see so many cat doodles- all of which I photographed and shall share! I added a few of my own too!

Then there was the all important Pineapple on pizza debate. I stand firm in my opinion.

Oh, and here's another surprise...there wasn't a Willy in sight!!! 😂😂😂

FIN. A bittersweet ending of the @artfaircheshire 2026. I've met so many lovely people, it really has been a blast to be a part of again! Thank you to all who complimented my work, and to those who decided to take a piece of the Jem collection home with them!Here's hoping, we meet again! 🩷🌻🐈👩‍🎨🎨🩷

Two years ago, during the last art fair, I happened upon a nice little coffee shop and tried my first ever pumpkin spiced latte. Say what you want, but it was heavenly! I've thought of that place ever since and had been so excited to come back to Macclesfield for a sip
...how sorry was I to find that the place has since closed down! I never got to praise their magic!

Scared, nervous, excited...everything all at once!!

'ALL AGOG!' Recently sold at @artfaircheshire His new owner says that he particually liked the terrified eyes!! The couple who purchased this piece told me that they also bought themselves a painting of a man walking a dog. They intend on hanging them together, so to enjoy poor old puss' scaredy reaction to the sight of approaching mutt!! How brilliant! I couldn't be happier!

Rest assured, and fear not. I know this cat well. A big fat snowy paw will meet that dogs nose if he comes too close!!

I have just arrived in Macclesfield now and am making my way upto the town hall. Its gonna be a good day!

I'm trying to eat a whole onion today-Ha!
Theres a sniffle going around, and I'm doing my very best not to catch it!
Tomorrow is apparently a day of astrological inportance in my calendar, I feel that my trip to Macclesfield might play its part.And so, I refuse to miss it for anything!!

Onions are a powerhouse in natural medicine, a go-to ingredient for centuries. My favourite known case comes from one of the series of books by Heather Morris, In which she recounts stories of holocaust survivors from their time at the camps.

'The three sisters' tells of the blessed find amongst the suitcases and trunks that were sorted by one young lady. An onion.
She tucked it away and rushed it back to the bedside of her sick and dying sister. There, she forced her to eat every last bite, Both knowing of its wonderful properties. The humble onion cured the young girl. There was little doubt that it would, they knew.

I imagine her absolute delight at the very sight of this onion. The miracle cure. Greater than any pile of gold.

So. Here I am!
I've cut up half and doused it in good quality honey, prepairing to make medicine. Knowing that I'd have to actually eat some anyway, I had a taste.
-You know what. It isn't too bad! It tastes like a sassy apple!! Very sweet with the kick of a great donkey! The worst part is the afterburn... which admittedly feels like said donkey is trampling over my chest!!

The second half will accompany a jacket potato tonight, in a mega onion salad. The lengths I'd go to!

Now, now, form an orderly line, I'm sure you're all quite eager for a kiss!

'August Sunflowers' Lit up my work space with such cheer over the past few months! It honestly feels a little empty now it has gone! They added such warmth and cosiness with that bold splash of colour and size!

You will now find this piece on display at @artfair Cheshire in one of the two downstairs galleries.

A mix of photos taken at the open evening @artfaircheshire Wednesday 7th. Including some nice bits from other artists, including my friend @m.veldmanjones.art give her a look!!

1. With Alison, my lovely first buyer! We had a nice chat about her pull towards 'Cat nap'

2. With Margret Vrldman Jones, fellow artist. -I dont remember the joke!

3. My set up, I didn't notice until afterwards that all of my cats are displayed on one side in a 'cuddle puddle'

4. First sale sticker added by one of the volunteers. A sweetheart with faaaabulous nails!!

5. Chatting with a nice lady, she told me how much she loved my partying fish painting, 'Gill-ty pleasures'

6. This cool young couple bought one of my paintings, 'All Agog!' The Donation piece, 100% of the sale goes to East Cheshire Hospice!

You don't always get the luxury of knowing where your painting is going after it has sold, its a sort of mystery you lean into. I had the opportunity to meet some of my buyers recently and loved hearing their own take and connection to my work. That really is a gift to me. To see how happy they were with their new purchase - something I created with my own hands...Its a compliment for sure!

I began recording as I approached the upper hall, excited to go on the hunt for my work. Immediatly crossing paths with Alison, a lovely lady I'd chatted with upon my arrival. She eagerly led me to a painting she had just purchased and wanted to confirm if it was indeed one of mine. It was! I was very surprised and a bit delighted-if you cannot already tell!!

My first sale went to the perfect owner, I've already began drafting a little poem to attach to the back, based on her reasoning for choosing this piece!!
