🎄 THE LUNCH AUDITOR… AFTER HOURS?! 👀🎹

We branched out tonight and joined @thepianoworkscardiff for their Step Into Christmas Showcase — and apparently September is now Christmas. I'm not complaining. 😂🎅

We got a taste of what's coming this festive season:
🍴 Stunning food samples
🥂 Drinks flowing
🎹 Live music
🔥 And that absolutely brilliant Piano Works atmosphere as always.

Safe to say, the Christmas offering has passed its preliminary audit. ✅😂

One thing I love about this place is that it isn't just somewhere you go for food or drinks — the atmosphere is the whole experience.

Thanks for having us! 💗

Now the important question… is September too early for Christmas, or are we officially allowed to start? 👀🎄👇

🚨 RIGHT… WE'VE HAD A WORD FROM HIGHER POWERS. 😂

Apparently pretending to be an official company food account when you're very much NOT an official company food account eventually gets noticed. Who knew? 🤷🏻‍♂️
So… we're having a little rebrand.

👋 SAY HELLO TO: THE LUNCH AUDITOR 🔎🍴

New name.
Same hot pink. 💗
Same questionable payroll jokes.
Same obsession with finding ridiculously good food around Cardiff.
And most importantly…
THE FREE LUNCHES AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE. 👀💸

If anything, this gives me even more licence to investigate Cardiff's lunches properly.

Expect:
🔎 Lunches officially UNDER AUDIT
✅ Food that's APPROVED
🍴 Cardiff Market and beyond
💗 Independent local businesses getting some love
💸 And the occasional opportunity for ME TO PAY FOR YOUR LUNCH

So welcome to The Lunch Auditor.

Good food. No fluff. Let's eat.

And Cardiff food businesses…
consider yourselves officially under investigation. 👀🔎

🏆 PAYROLL HAS SPOKEN… WE HAVE A WINNER! 🍽️💸

The wheel has done its thing and @thewigleyfamily is officially getting FREE LUNCH TOMORROW! 🎉

There is, however, a small payroll query… 👀

You were asked to tag ONE person.

You tagged FIVE. 😂

AND one of them was @dirtygnocchi . 🤌😂

Now, I'm all for supporting local businesses… but I'm not entirely sure the whole of Dirty Gnocchi was included in the lunch budget.

Finance have checked.
Payroll have checked.

I'm still only paying for TWO PEOPLE. 🤣

So @thewigleyfamily … you've got some decisions to make:

👤 Who's actually getting the second seat?
🍝 And are we taking the Dirty Gnocchi tag as a fairly strong hint about where you're eating? 👀

Drop me a DM and we'll get lunch sorted. 💗

And genuinely — thank you to everyone who entered, commented and shared. 🙌

If you saw the giveaway and thought “I'll enter later…” but never did:

You just watched someone win a free lunch from a VERY small pool of entries. 😂

👀 There will be another one. Don't make the same mistake.

This isn't my usual type of post, but I just had to share something incredible I saw today. A massive, massive 'well done' to @morrisons for introducing this 'Sensory Box' in their store.
For families navigating a sensory-overload environment like a busy supermarket, a small touch like this can make a world of difference. It shows real consideration for neurodivergent children and their parents. It's thoughtful, it's practical, and quite honestly, it’s a brilliant idea that more places need to adopt.
Kudos, @morrisons, for taking a real step towards making shopping less stressful and more inclusive. 💚✨
Please share this so other families know about it! Have you seen anything like this in your local shops? 👇

🎉 WE HAVE A WINNER! 🎉

The paperwork has been checked.
The payroll department has signed it off.
The free lunch has officially been claimed. ✅🍽️

Congratulations to @gdfoodie_ 🎉

They chose the Anonymous Voucher option... which means they got to enjoy the prize without having lunch with me 😭💔

So while they were tucking into this absolute feast, I was left staring at the photos wondering where it all went wrong 😂

Thank you to everyone who entered our first May Day Bonus Giveaway. We'll definitely be running more in the future 👀

Until then, we'll keep eating our way around Cardiff Market and sharing the best local food finds with you all.

🫒 MARKET GEM OF THE WEEK 🫒

We nearly walked straight past this one...

📍 Mediterranean Foods, Cardiff Market

These Walnut & Pomegranate Olives stopped us in our tracks.

Sweet. Tangy. Nutty. Salty.

Basically everything you want from an olive, all at once.

One of the best things about Cardiff Market isn't just the hot food stalls — it's finding products you'd never normally pick up in a supermarket.

Have you tried these?

Or is there another hidden gem in the market we need to check out? 👀👇
