The concerns raised by these employees further reinforce the evidence of cruelty that occurred at Ridglan Farms.

It is important to note that the standard operations at facilities like Ridglan and Marshall are cruel by nature. Explicit incidents of cruelty shouldn’t be required to get them shut down, though there is no shortage of them.

I will continue to honestly describe what I witnessed at Ridglan Farms. Yes, I took the job as an animal rights activist. I understand that the animals need me to accurately tell their stories. Exaggerating or lying is detrimental to the animals.

They threatened to sue me because they claimed I lied in my testimony. My testimony about cherry eye surgeries was later supported by statements from Ridglan Farms employees during an unannounced inspection in 2025.

The Ridglan beagles are finally all free, but the court proceedings are just beginning for the brave and compassionate rescuers! Please join us next Monday, October 19 at the Dane County Courthouse as the rest of the #Ridglan51 will be criminally charged for their role in the March Ridglan open rescue. The rescuers are charged with "burglary--party to a crime", which carries a maximum prison sentence of 12.5 years. Please join us to show your support for ordinary people who took a stand against criminal animal cruelty when the authorities failed to act to protect the Ridglan dogs.

Behind closed doors, there are stories we rarely hear from people—stories of immense suffering, but also of profound conscience. 💔

Scotty was instrumental in shutting down Ridglan Farms by exposing the industry’s deep-rooted cruelty. While this heartbreaking photo shows a dog he fell in love with but tragically couldn’t save, his bravery ultimately rescued thousands of other dogs by bringing an end to the facility’s operations.

We often think of animal testing labs and breeding facilities in terms of the animals inside. However, there is another layer of trauma happening within those walls. Driven by a genuine love for animals, the need for a well-paying job, or the reality that it is the only work available in town, many people take these positions only to find themselves trapped in a system of routine cruelty.

The psychological toll is real. Witnessing and participating in the exploitation of helpless beings causes deep, lasting moral injury and trauma for these workers.

That is why whistleblowers are heroes. @scotty_gilby is a hero.
It takes unimaginable courage to stand up, break the silence, and expose the truth at great personal and professional risk. Whistleblowers don’t just speak for the animals who have no voices—they shed light on a broken industry that harms everyone it touches.

Their bravery, Scotty’s bravery, is what cracks the foundation of secrecy and paves the way for a more humane world.

Manifesting futures filled with bounding through the prairie for the Marshall beagles. Hard to believe sweet Daisy was trapped in a cage at Ridglan just months ago and now is enjoying warm, sunny fall days. Never has there been so much momentum to usher in animal-free science and save the animals. Let’s go!!

Introducing the COMPACT ACT (H.R. 10522)! The Act would prohibit @hhsgov from spending federal funds on biomedical research using live dogs and cats. Huge thanks to @replangworthy (R-NY) and @repmarkpocan (D-WI) for introducing this bipartisan legislation.

This would be a huge step forward in ending animal experimentation, and we couldn't be more excited to see so much enthusiasm towards implementing innovative human-based research methods!

@waynestate conducted deadly & painful treadmill stress tests on beagles; dogs were forced to run on treadmills while implanted devices drastically increased their heart rates. By design, every dog eventually died during the experiments when their bodies gave out or an implanted device broke.

According to Physicians Committee, HUNDREDS of dogs were killed & $15 million in taxpayer money was wasted. These trials failed to help a SINGLE PERSON.

22 dogs rescued from abuse. 51 rescuers charged with felonies.

0 years behind bars for the abusers. Despite racking up over 300 violations of the state’s animal health code, the owners who ran Ridglan face absolutely no jail time- that’s right: documented animal abuse: 0 years.

Five months ago on March 15th, 51 individuals refused to sit idly by. They entered Ridglan Farms, rescued 22 beagles, and exposed secrets that breeding facilities fight desperately to hide. This rescue sparked global attention, opening the world’s eyes to the harsh realities of commercial breeding and the cruelty of animal testing.

Recent rescue efforts show us how deeply traumatized these beagles are—most are terrified, withdrawn, and entirely unfamiliar with love or kindness. They suffer from severe physical neglect and profound psychological trauma caused by years of isolated cage confinement. Ridglan beagles are no different than Marshall beagles.

Denied the basic dignity of a pet’s life, these animals are never seen as companions. The testing industry treats them as nothing more than disposable assets and clinical statistics.

These defendants aren’t activists-for-hire. They’re regular people — coworkers, parents, friends, some who don’t even have pets. They just refused to look away.

We’re asking you not to look away either.

Our March is peaceful—it is NOT an open rescue. But the message carries the same weight: ABOLISH ANIMAL TESTING.

Science has moved on — validated alternatives already exist and are already used by physicians and researchers. The “we need animal testing” argument isn’t current science, it’s an outdated talking point.
