Despite the great desire for partnerships, there is a gaping chasm separating independent bookstores from independent publishers.

So, instead of attempting to move mountains, I have chosen to build a bridge.

The Morrigan Indie Book Rep is an author, woman, and veteran owned business that hosts a horror co-op catalog. I designed the model to solve barriers on both sides of the exchange and to perpetuate the desire for community by keeping dollars as close to the work as possible. My ultimate goal of The Morrigan is to be the home of all indie horror titles without traditional distribution channels to give booksellers a single source of truth in ordering indie horror.

Bookstores have access to a single destination where they can easily find quality, professionally produced independent horror, free from AI, with marketing support behind each title.

Horror publishers have the option to list their titles in an affordable, dedicated, indie horror wholesale catalog with active sales representation and account pursuit. Their books join a small pool of thousands instead of getting lost in the tens of millions of books listed under horror (but are actually romance).

We are the punk rock of the industry.

Horror writers are far less likely to get an agent, sign a publishing contract, or have wide sales distribution and marketing team supporting their success.

Yet, we thrive in community, sharing knowledge, and the comradery of our literary outcast status.

The horror community is the only genre where listing all the small publishers and their titles side-by-side works.

We share authors, artists, editors, voice actors, conferences, awards, Facebook Groups, signing opportunities, and most importantly… Readers.

I need your help to share my heart and vision.

I would be immensely grateful for the names of your favorite industry podcasts, magazines, websites and places for horror adjacent content is welcomed. Point the way!

You are the BEST community in the industry. Thank you for giving me a home a decade ago. by @the.morrigan.ibr

“Signing up with The Morrigan Indie Book Rep has been one of the best decisions I have made since I started my Indie Author/Publisher journey. Dacia has gone above and beyond standard duties and expectations to make sure that we both receive value from working together and overcoming international hurdles like monetary exchange rates, shipping, and everything else. Such a positive force for indie authors and publishers as well as a positive personality. Last week my books were not in a bookstore in Wichita, Kansas. This week they are. Next week… who knows. Thanks TMIBR. Thanks Dacia.” – ironfangpress , Iron Fang Press by @the.morrigan.ibr
