Out of home sessions would make up about 20% of my bookings but when they happen they are just UNREAL. When J said she wanted to do the session at their local spot not far from where they live and walk down to the beach, I knew it was going to be special and so fucking COOL. Just look at them 🥲🫶🏼
Doing a location shoot that’s pretty is always nice, but going somewhere that’s meaningful to your life right now will always trump for me. Sure it might not be your local cafe and beach walk in a couple years time, but how incredible to have photos to remember that little portion of your life. To be able to show the photos to grandkids and show that little pocket of life when you were younger. It’s the whole reason behind TNS. Honest photos of your real life as you’re living it. An all time favourite session of mine with Mimi, Michael and little A 🥹 how I haven’t shared these yet I don’t know. The most wholesome afternoon with these guys. From drinks in the backyard, to running a bath on the kitchen bench with the afternoon sun peaking through. Witnessing these three so comfortably in their home was such a privilege.

A little over a year later I am back with this beautiful family. Capturing them and a treasured morning ritual in this season of life. Nothing rigid, just them and some unbelievable weather. We decided last minute to change to a week earlier than originally planned and thank god we did. All of it was just meant to be. I am so proud of these and so honoured to have captured something so special to them.

I wanted to put words to how passionate I feel about showing people just how beautiful their every day routines are. But Mimi said it better than anyone: ‘I will be dreaming of these mornings when I’m old and grey’.

2026 so far has been full of ups and downs, as life goes. In recent months there have been a couple of stand outs as far as highs go. Firstly, I was chosen as a finalist in the @piazzafremantle Photography Prize which is now exhibiting in the village in Fremantle and I just so happened to be down the weekend it opened. So proud to have been chosen alongside so many other talented humans. The photos displayed are SO insanely cool. PLEASE go down if you have the time to look at it and support an exhibition full of WA artists and talents. Found out through one of the people photographed that the image also made it into the local paper in Freo which is always such a cool experience to have your work in print like that. A massive shoutout to @_sambloor for organising this and for wanting to push photography and art forward.
And a second shout out to the beautiful muses who made this shot possible.

Secondly, I was chosen as an honourable mention in the film category for @kodak and @theflowtrip ‘s Photo Contest, which isn’t a winning placement but it’s still a big deal to me 🥹 It is an enormous international contest so to place as an HM and have my image still recognised in some capacity by the insanely talented and experienced judges panel is bloody massive ❤️‍🔥 Not all of the honourable mentions were going to be included in the print issue following the contest but I have found out mine has been chosen to be included - which is a cherry on top of an already pretty amazing cake.

At the risk of being a little too self indulgent here- I’m just so proud and wanted to share these achievements that I really never would have thought possible for myself when I was picking my camera back up post pregnancy hiatus in 2024. I’m so grateful and excited.

The first shoot we did together was decided on the home they made in an apartment in Scarborough which held so much for them over their time in Perth. Nothing more special than memories made in the afternoon kitchen light. The ordinary stuff that means everything 🤎 🎞️

Maddie and Nic on a mix of film and digital 🦋

I can’t explain just how lucky I feel to have captured this pocket of life for these two. When they first reached out they explained that they were going to be leaving the country soon and returning home after being here working for some time. Reading how deeply they had fallen in love with Scarborough and the south west corner of WA, the life and love they’d built on whilst being here stabbed me deep in my sentimental heart. This is what I want my work to be about. It’s always been about exactly this. It was an immediate connection. I NEEDED to do this with them. We spoke back and forth and the more we talked the more I learnt about the memories they had created and realised just how special this was going to be. A couple of the main outcomes they wanted from this shoot was to have photos that FELT like the memories they’d made and to have a bloody incredible stack of photos to show their future kids one day to show just how cool and in love they were when they were younger and living in Aus. Don’t want to talk too big a game, but I think we nailed it 💥🥹❤️‍🔥 by @the.nostalgiaseries

sisterhood-childhood-girlhood

There’s been something so deeply special capturing my nieces as they’ve grown together over the years. They’ve been my little muses for so long. What an honour. They’re getting older and I know they probably won’t let me capture them as much (if at all) for much longer. Which I get. I was an almost teenager who didn’t like photos once too.
I have found myself wanting to do the classic (and probably annoying) adult thing which would be to say ‘you’ll want these photos one day’. But I haven’t and I won’t. I can’t ignore the understanding of where they’re at and the respect for their autonomy. Anything we’ve ever photographed together has been a collaboration of excitement and creativity together. It can’t be that without their enthusiasm.

A couple of years ago I started an off and on again series ‘universal experiences of girlhood’ which they have been so much apart of. I haven’t shared much of it publicly. But I feel an unexpected tie to it lately but not the memories of me as a younger girl. As me now.
I was their age once. I remember it like it was yesterday. But I blinked and now I’m 31 trying to find the whimsy and joy of girlhood that I had back then.

They’re getting older but I hope they have a part of childhood and girlhood stay with all versions of them as they grow 🦋
