So, uhm... Better late than never, right? 👀

I don't really follow Booksta trends but this was fun! It was hard to limit it to just 10 books since my TBR is an evergrowing beast whose hunger can't be stilled. My actual list is SO much longer.

💚 Thank you @teethandtomes for tagging me!

I'm tagging some friends who I believe haven't done this trend yet (sorry if I missed it). Please show me your TBR 🫣

September was a SLOW reading month. I hoped to clear at least half of my October ARC releases, but unfortunately things don't always go to plan...
There is a good chance I won't be able to finish all of them before they publish 🫣

I'm a little stressed about it, but still feel blessed to have received this many amazing review copies 💚 (definitely learned my lesson for next year though)

On the bright side, September did contain some of my favourite reads of 2026. Including The White North Has Thy Bones (I'm still not over it btw) and all my reads were 4⭐ or above!! I'm really hoping this streak continues 👏

All books highlighted in this post are tagged, and their titles and authors are listed in the captions to make them easy to find.

📖 Fruits of our Labor by Ian Patterson

🌈 Queer and implied bi/pan female MCs, multiple WLW dynamics.
📅 OUT NOW
🛒 Shiraki Press and all major book shops

💭 Thoughts:
A few months ago I got to read Fruits of Our Labor as an ARC. I love this book! Even though I had some mixed feelings about it, which kind of seems like the exact point of it all. This book was made to be discussed!

Such a great exploration of gender roles/norms, reproductive rights, polarization and the slippery slope of extremism.

✨August Wrap-Up✨

This month I sped up 🏎️ so I could eventually slow down 🐌

I believe it is a canon event for ARC readers to "suffer from success" at some point, aka, requesting too many books and suffering the consequences.
It was only natural that this would happen to me eventually as well. Which is why I've put myself on a request ban until I've cleared a good part of my ARC TBR. I abstained really well for the most part (only slipped up once... Don't tell Teru or Luke) and hopefully will have some free time towards the end of the year to read some recs by friends that I've been dying to get to!

Also, a question for other ARC readers! 🤔
I like to always tag the authors in these posts, so other readers can easily find them. However, I think there is an unwritten rule that you shouldn't tag them if the rating is below 3 ⭐, which is why I skipped the tag for one book. Is this the correct way to do it or do you have a different approach?

📅 OUT NOW!

It's been over a month since I read this morbid, introspective and weird (which is a compliment in my book) collection, filled with body horror, discourse on familial legacy/curses, nature getting its lick back, unique takes on known concepts and Slavic folklore that stayed with me far beyond its pages. I still think about it all the time!
