Trips to nowhere in vintage cars and motorcycles

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Days two and three of the @overcrestproductions Utah rally trip.
After having been driving for the last two days, the feeling of making it to the “welcome to Utah” sign was just a massive hit of dopamine. In that moment alone, all of the time, money and effort that had been dedicated to making it to this point, paid off all at once. To me, we had just won, and everything that comes after is the reward.

And immediately after leaving the Utah sign and entering monument valley, the rewards started rolling in, in the form of other rally participants passing by and waving. We have arrived in the promised “sports car vacationland” and we’re almost ready to rally.
But first we have the night zero barbecue, complete with friendly reservation dogs. And then registration, where everybody gets goodie bags, route books and numbers.

One of the cooler things I did this year was getting to be a part of the @zcargarage team, putting in long hours and a 40 hour shift to get all of our cars ready for the @velocityinvitational. But more specifically to finish the restoration of the #40 historic trans-am Datsun 510, built and raced in period by Corky Bell, and 52 years later at the age of 82, raced again by the same.

One of the many highlights of that weekend was starting the car for the first time at 2:00AM, seven hours before it’s supposed to be on track. And putting the car on the dyno at 2:30AM and having the cops called.
