You know what’s funny about sex in long term relationships?

We assume that because we’ve been with someone for years, we already know what they like.

And maybe we do.

But knowing what someone likes and actually being present enough to experience it with them are two very different things.

You can kiss the same person a thousand times and have a completely different experience every time.

That’s what makes sex so fascinating to me.

Sometimes the answer to boring sex isn’t doing something new.

It’s experiencing something familiar differently.

I put together a free guide called What Women Wish Men Knew About Great Sex with five things I think more men deserve to understand.

Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you the link to get it. ❤️ by @the.respected.man

There’s usually no meeting where two people sit down and decide:
“Okay. Starting Monday, let’s become roommates.” 😂

It happens quietly.

Conversations become logistics.
Touch becomes less frequent.
Flirting disappears.

You try to initiate and get turned down enough times that eventually you stop putting yourself out there.

You stop bringing certain things up because you already know how the conversation is going to go.

And somewhere along the way...
you become incredibly good at running a household together while becoming increasingly disconnected from each other.

The confusing part is that you can still love her.

You can still want the marriage.
You can still have absolutely no intention of leaving.

And still think:
How the hell did we get here?

That's the part I'm interested in.

Because “we're basically roommates” usually isn't the actual problem.

It's evidence of everything that's been happening underneath it.

If this feels a little too familiar, comment or privately DM me STUCK.

I'll personally message you where I'd start.

You can know what she likes.
You can know what works.
You can even be really good at it.

And still be missing something.

Good sex doesn’t have to be bad to start feeling routine.

You learn each other.

You figure out what works.

You know what she likes.

And eventually, without meaning to, you can start repeating what has worked before.

So the obvious answer seems to be:

Switch things up.

Except…

You can change what you do and still not change how the experience feels.

And that distinction is something women often feel very clearly but have a much harder time explaining.

It’s also one of the reasons I made this ridiculously simple one-page guide for men:

What Women Wish Men Knew About Great Sex

Five things that can completely change how she experiences you in bed.

The affair can be over.

That doesn't mean your brain suddenly goes:

Excellent. Glad we cleared that up. Back to our regularly scheduled programming. 😂

You can forgive her.

You can choose to stay.

You can genuinely want your marriage.

And still notice things you never used to notice.

Where she's going.

Why she's late.

Who texted.

What she's wearing.

Whether that story quite adds up.

Not necessarily because you're trying to punish her.

Sometimes you're trying to answer one question:

Am I safe believing you again?

And that's where a lot of men get stuck.

They don't necessarily want out of the marriage.

They want out of feeling like they have to keep one eye open inside it.

If you're trying to move forward after betrayal but still feel stuck in what happened, comment or privately DM me STUCK.

I'll personally message you where I'd start.

After 32 years behind the chair, I’ve heard women talk very honestly about sex.

And there are things women say to other women that men rarely get to hear.

This is one of them.

If you want to hear what I wish more men understood about a woman’s turn-on, comment VAULT and I’ll send it to you. 🎧 by @the.respected.man

Sometimes “just tell me what you want” isn’t as simple as it sounds.

I’m a somatic sexologist and relationship coach.

But before this work, I spent 32 years behind the hair salon chair listening to women talk about relationships, attraction, sex, and all the things we don’t always know how to say to the person we’re sleeping next to.

And after years of hearing both men and women talk about sex, I’ve realized something:

Sometimes men are genuinely willing to listen.

We just don’t always know how to explain what we’re asking for.

We know when something feels incredible.

We know when something feels off.

We know when we want more.

But putting into words why can be surprisingly difficult.

So I translated five of those things into a ridiculously simple one-page guide for men.

I asked men a simple question…

“What do you wish your partner understood about you?”

And these were some of their answers.

What always gets me about conversations like this is how much can be happening underneath the surface that never gets said out loud.

He can love her and still feel lonely.

He can want more touch without just wanting sex.

He can be trying to do the right thing and still wonder how the hell he became the bad guy.

And sometimes he doesn’t need another argument about who’s right.

He needs help figuring out what’s actually happening between them and what to do next.

If you’re a man who’s trying to make your relationship work but you’re at the point where you don’t know what the hell to do anymore, comment or DM me STUCK.

I’ll personally message you where I’d start.

Foreplay has terrible PR. 😂

For some men, the word alone sounds like:

“Okay, so how long are we supposed to do this before we get to the good part?”

Which is kind of the problem.

Because if foreplay feels like the sh*t you have to get through before sex starts, you’re probably thinking about it very differently than she’s experiencing it.

Kissing. Touching. Oral. Whatever.

You can do all the “right” things.

But the interesting part isn’t checking them off the list.

It’s what’s happening inside her while you’re doing them.

Is she enjoying it?

Or is she starting to want what hasn’t happened yet?

Those are not necessarily the same thing.

And that difference is exactly what I want you to notice.

Comment VAULT and I’ll send you the 14-minute audio I made about it. 🎧 by @the.respected.man

I think we spend a lot of time talking about what makes someone “good in bed.”
But unforgettable?
That’s a different question.
And I’m not convinced the answer is technique.
So I’m throwing this one to you:
What makes someone unforgettable in bed?
I have my answer. 😉
But I want yours first.

Deciding to stay after betrayal is a decision.

Trusting her again is a completely different f*cking project. 😂

I think those two things get confused all the time.

You decide:

I’m staying.
I love her.
I want my marriage.

And then months later, some tiny thing brings the whole damn thing back.

Her phone lights up.

She’s later than expected.

She gets dressed for work and suddenly you’re wondering why she’s wearing that.

She’s going to an event and you catch yourself thinking:

Who are you dressing up for?

Something she says doesn’t quite make sense.

And suddenly you’re thinking:

Why am I still doing this? I decided to stay.

Well, apparently your brain didn’t receive the calendar invitation announcing that everyone was moving on now. 😂

Choosing her again doesn’t erase what happened.

You can love her and still be hurt.

You can want your marriage and still not trust her.

You can be completely committed to rebuilding this and have no f*cking clue how to actually do that.

That’s the part I’m interested in.

If you chose to stay after betrayal but still don’t know how the hell you’re supposed to move forward from it, comment or DM me STUCK and I’ll personally message you where I’d start.
